jb007
I'm glad that it is doing very well overseas. I would have loved to see an increase in North American gross also compared to the first one. Edited September 5, 2012 by jb007
fmpro
Told you it would be higherIt was so obvious that the early number was fake..Very happy with that number
The Toymaker
Not fake as such, just incomplete. Rentrak are obviously not as all-encompassing as they like to believe. But yeah, very happy with that number. TE2 now has more WW than TE1 finished with overseas. So it's not going to be hard for TE2 to make another $100m WW and beat it outright. Times are lookin' good. JCS
Not fake as such, just incomplete. Rentrak are obviously not as all-encompassing as they like to believe.Rentrak just put up the estimates they could get/were given. Rentrak are normally solid and it is just because TE2 has so many distributors that their numbers were incomplete and that is not their fault. acab
I think the moment it gets to 200m OS, Lions Gate will greenlight the third one.
The Toymaker
TE2 has been far easier tracking than TE1. So TE3 will be a breeze because [i hope] distributors will see that there is profit in this and then big distributors will buy up the rights. baumer
According to numbers.com the third has been greenlit.
The Toymaker
Oh yeah, that fountain of Hollywood gossip known as The Numbers.
The Toymaker
In Taiwan, TE2 has made T$32m, which equates US$1.1m, after 3 weekends. It's had 43% and 60% drops so far.TE1 made $1.23m.This will not be indicative of China. I'm eager to see if this trend will be replicated in Hong Kong, though, as they are more similar. The Toymaker
It's at $171m, and these markets are yet to open (or if already opened, no official grosses have been reported): South Korea September 2012 China 4 September 2012 Slovakia 6 September 2012 Czech Republic 6 September 2012 Vietnam 7 September 2012 Hong Kong 13 September 2012 Colombia 28 September 2012 Japan 20 October 2012 Plus these markets that have no date yet (on imdb) but TE1 opened there (and grossed almost $1m in total) so I see no reason why TE2 wouldn't as well: Chile South Africa Uruguay Latvia Ecuador Plus HOLDOVER markets like Germany, Brazil, Australia, Denmark (3 days so far) and France, Spain, Sweden (10 days so far). It's definitely hitting $300m worldwide. Edited September 6, 2012 by The Toymaker
The Toymaker
Anybody know how to get grosses for Lithuania, Indonesia, Kuwait, Pakistan, Estonia, Israel and Romania? TE2 has opened there but I cannot get grosses for them, local currency or otherwise. I am sure that BOM used to report for Indonesia, but there doesn't seem to be anything there since April this year. Romania and Estonia and Israel, also BOM markets, but nothing on TE2.
