I love how this completely ignores the context of everything else that happens in the film

The context of Obi-wan extolling paradoxical nonsense and then showing himself to be a massive hypocrite while doing exactly what he warns Anakin against? :jeb!:

I think what makes a good character is development, memorability, layers, the actor’s performance, and most importantly how many memes come from them.

Obi-Wan Kenobi checks all the boxes.

And while Shrek may not own all the boxes, he comes in at a solid number 4 because of glorious memes and the fact that Ogres have layers.

@Jake Gittes...interesting that you have Cox's Lecter in there but not Hopkins.  I have no issue with it, and I liked Manhunter more than SOTL...but can you give me a tiny breakdown of why you like that character instead of Hopkin's version?

Between the two I just have a preference for Cox, y'know? And that movie does everything right when it comes to Cox; the thing about Cox is that you shouldn't get more than you can handle, and Mann, being Mann, of course understands how to give you just enough of a taste of Cox to leave you satisfied but still wanting more.

(Serious answer: Cox's Lecter feels closer to someone who could exist in real life, and for that I find him more dusturbing, plus I enjoy his brusque energy more than Hopkins' cultured-monster routine. Also for the purposes of this list Hopkins' Lecter would presumably count as a franchise character, and while I like him in SOTL, he becomes a cartoon after that movie. Cox really does benefit from appearing for just a few minutes and then haunting the rest of the movie.)

Flight landed

Luggage didn't.  It's 3am and work starts in 7 hours.

If I'm alive after work I'll begin tallying then. Otherwise I'll start adding up on Tuesday.

Either way expect countdown to begin probably Thursday

I was just taking the piss out of Scholar's quoted comment above. Quaritch is the best character in Avatar tbf, but for me still not top 100 material

AARGH. That is the worst!! I had that happen to me on my recent flight from Boston to LAX. I hope you get all your things back, and in good shape. And hopefully get some sleep!

That sucks. Happened to me once. I was one of the unlucky few whose luggage was not even loaded on the flight. It was in the middle of the night. Thankfully the airline delivered to my home the next day.

Really excited to see this list btw

Na'vi aren't peaceful. Pandora isn't a planet. Quaritch doesn't contradict himself or his own beliefs for the sake of the plot.
