Bluebomb
I don't think English dubs are that popular. If anything it'll be how pinocchio suggests; a limited sub release and a remake later on.The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The 2011 release did better everywhere else except for Europe although Russia was a notable exception. This remake will make the material more accessible to non-European markets. lab276
Yes, so not a dub. No one would ever watch an English dub.

CJohn
€1.35mNot bad.boxoffice.es was predicting way less than that. It was a breakout hit.
pinocchio
It wasn't even able to beat John Carter in Spain?!
CJohn
John Carter flopped in Spain but had 3x more copies than Intouchables. That was enough to pull the victory. I am sure it JC will fall behind it next weekend.
Bluebomb
Yes, so not a dub. No one would ever watch an English dub.Did you not read my post? More people watched the English dub of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo than the original OS.Which agrees with what I said earlier.
rockNrollaDIM
This should just be called Intouchables box office.... OS is its entire market, who needs the US??

Are you referring to the David Fincher remake? There's a difference between a dub and a remake.
Bluebomb
Hot damn. I made a mistake. Apologies.
IndustriousAngel
Intouchables may end up with more $ WW than John Carter without even playing in North America. And that on a budget of not even 15million$; the numbers are in fact very similar to last winter's "Black Swan" and "The King's Speech" which also made more than 300 million US$ worldwide on a 15 million budget. Bluebomb
I think what's even more impressive than that is it hasn't even opened in 1 Asian territory. All of its gross has come from Europe.
Crusader
Hmm should we expect much from Asia anyway ? This is a thoroughly European film I don't think it will catch on much outside of Europe Still an amazing run ... I wish someone would give it a proper release in US say like Disney does with Miyazaki movies

lab276
It's amazing how over-represented 2001 is in the top 10. No other year has more than one, but 2001 has three.
pinocchio
That's true. And they all made those numbers without re-releases!
