I've been meaning to ask this: DR Part 2 is confirmed to have sequences SHOT FOR IMAX? That was genuinely my biggest letdown in DR Part 1 lol

Can’t seem to find it out now but Eddie Hamilton did confirm it somewhere.

Always the case was so predictable to see them jump on the Barbie bandwagon as soon as it was obvious the BO was going up. Same thing with Elemental was so funny seeing people suddenly change their tune about the quality of the film when it showed the legs it did.

Yeah, this always happens. The vast majority of people thought Barbie and Oppenheimer were big risks . . . until it became clear they were going to be smashing successes. Suddenly, everyone ALWAYS knew they were going to be huge.

I’m pretty confident the average age of r/boxoffice is like 14.

Some people on r/Boxoffice were even saying that Paramount will likely remove Cruise from the franchise and that’s when I knew I had enough Reddit for the day

It's honestly stupidity, it's like the suggestion from a certain poster about reshoots akin to JL, like hell, Cruise will be pushed around by Paramount.

Like outside of maybe Jack Reacher 2 which might have still broken even, I can’t think of when was the last time Cruise didn’t make money for Paramount

Tom Cruise is practically Paramount’s company mascot. No way they’re gonna get rid of him just because a movie that has part one in the title underperformed.

Cruise is more of a liability when he doesn't make a movie for Paramount. Only thing that made money was Oblivion for Universal. Edge of Tomorrow, The Mummy and American Made didn't do great.

Some have suggested they change the title of Part 2 and retroactively remove the Part One from this movie. Can’t see it but not a glass idea. Also some say Paramount will likely slash the the budget for the next one which isn’t unbelievable

Given they're halfway through filming, slashing the budget isn't an option, It's probably a lot cheaper because they've not had a Covid style delay.

LOL, MI7 still made more money than other flops this year, Top Gun maverick made so much money they can still finance another 3 MI movies with no issues (From a producer standpoint).

Cruise is probably the last Action star in the movie industry.

McQ is apparently adamant that they'll hit the planned release date for Part 2 despite the strikes.

He must know something we don't. Maybe the movie is much further along and as long the strikes are over,  god forbid , by early next year they can have it ready.

And they have worked under a compressed schedule before. Rogue Nation got moved up from Dec to July 2015 to avoid The Force Awakens and they still were still trying to figure out the ending of the movie at that  time.

I for one can’t wait for Part 2 to come out…the more time passes and MI7’s performance sticks out, the more people are coming out of their shell and posting some insane thoughts about the franchise..like how it’s mid and how they’re happy about the franchise’s downfall or how it’s generic!!

Can’t wait for Part 2 to come in a year and smash $800m+

McQ said that only 40% is shot but the majority of the stunts are done, apart from one but that's the biggest one. So guess the rest is just the talky bits that shouldn't take too long. Then again we don't know how long the strike lasts.

Wait there’s something that’s gonna be bigger than the biplane stunt!?

To that question McQ said that he can't say much but hinted that they weren't satisfied with the underwater stunt they did in RN. So expecting something along that line, especially that a submarine is involved.

McQ career is on the line, Nolan shoots a masterpiece in 57 days, MI films should not take over a year to film even with shutdowns

You're cracking me up. That's the best one yet. What next? McQ is to blame for the covid lockdowns and the SAG strike?
