Jonwo
The Woman in Black won Friday grossing in dollars $1.4m while the Muppets was second with $731,000 according to THR. Think Muppets will win half-term week though.
SchumacherFTW
I'll be contributing to The Muppets on monday, dunno about WiB though.
PhilipJ2001
Muppets was very good at my cinema yesterday after a quiet start on Friday
SchumacherFTW
Do you think that points to a strong week ahead then? What other films are you running that'll benefit from half term?
Heretic
WIB was sold out when I went on Friday. After I left, I had a feeling it might win the weekend. The Muppets Saturday was probably much bigger though...
CJohn
That looks good for WiB.
SchumacherFTW
I've just thought of something interesting in WiB's favour: when was the last 12A horror film that is supposedly scary? My sister claims to have almost pissed herself when she saw it on friday.
Heretic
It was SO scary. Scarier than Paranormal Activity. Don't see how it was rated a 12A...
SchumacherFTW
Maybe i'll add it to my list of stuff to see tomorrow then. See if i'm impressed. Edited February 12, 2012 by Schumacher FTW
RthDeadWov
Uk weekend 1-WIB, 2-Mupp, 3-SW(distant 3rd), 4-Vow, 5-Chron
Heretic
Interesting... The Muppets should be strong during half-term this week...but perhaps not meeting most people's expectations, including mine.
Totem
Fantastic for WIB, not sure what kind of OS run we will see from The Vow but opening in 4th in a major marketing isnt confidence boosting.
Jonwo
Muppets will do better business during next week being the only one of three family films, WIB did very well and not surprising considering it's a known title and it starred Daniel Radcliffe. Star Wars keep in mind was released a day earlier so The Vow could have beaten it Friday-Sunday, it'll do strong business on Valentine's Day.Next week is Ghost Rider Spirit of Vegeance and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, think WIB will repeat number 1 but it wouldn't surprise if The Muppets goes to number 1 next week. SchumacherFTW
I wonder how that $2.3m for TPM compares with it's opening day back in '99?
