SchumacherFTW
£1.7m I think is where JC will land. Will it even take number one away from Best exotic Marigold Hotel?

A Marvel Fanboy
Only 1.7M for JC ? ouch...
The Hand of Illumination
What we have hear is a textbook case of extrapolating domestic predictions into overseas predictions. Movies don't work like that if I'm not mistaken. Otherwise TF3 would have made way more than TH2.
SchumacherFTW
Only 1.7M for JC ? ouch... Green Lantern barely cracked £2m back in June, and that seemed to have more going for it. If I'm wrong, then i'm glad, but it's where I see it ending up.

fmpro
GL had no appeal OS. JC has some. Maybe.. But Disney will still loose a shitload of money on this..
Jonwo
GL was at least advertised and marketed well but I've seen nothing for John Carter, I've seen more ads and trailers for The Hunger Games.
Krissykins
In the UK I've seen more adverts/trailers for The Devil Inside. a $1m budget horror film than I have for the $250m budget JC.
SchumacherFTW
10 people at John Carter this afternoon, and not an especially positive reaction.
The Dark Alfred
IMAX won't save this either. Hunger Games pre-sold more tickets for its OD than JC had booked for the whole weekend. Ouch.
CJohn
I read in DHD that this is opening soft over Europe. This is PoP all over again.
Jonwo
It'll be interesting how 21 Jump Street does next week, it faces Contraband and The Devil Inside, it has gotten great reviews but it hasnt had much advertising, Im looking forward to it.The Pirates! has already started advertising, it has a two day head start on Wrath of the Titans and Streetdance 2, Im thinking £3-4m five days with very strong legs and with no kiddy competition, it might hit the £20m mark that Arthur Christmas achieved especially as its Aardman doing stopmotion rather than CGI. Heretic
Once again, TBEMH had a very small drop. It's really showing staying power. Could get into the mid 20s $.John Carter flopped as expected.
CJohn
It could have been worse. PoP opened with much less (but JC likely won't have the same good legs PoP did). Edited March 12, 2012 by CJohn
Heretic
POP opened when there was a heatwave though. It really doesn't get much worse than sub £2m...

The Hand of Illumination
Just gonna find any way you can not to give this film credit. A real shame.
