Some extrapolation...Today's actually looking really good...IMAX is almost sold out at 8pm...For a Tuesday after a holiday, that's very good. Assuming it's at around $53.8m, I could see around $5m happening for Tue-Thu, putting it at near $59m by the end of the week. We don't know actuals yet, but taking the 3 day weekend as $13m, a $7m 3rd weekend could happen, putting it at $66m-ish. Amazing.

Will it loose IMAX to DS this weekend?

I'm not entirely sure yet. Showtimes haven't been released yet, but it probably will. Or at least have a reduced number of shows...

I hope they will share like they do DOM

1 Marvel Avengers Assemble (Walt Disney) £8,121,916 £29,851,6802 American Pie: Reunion (Universal) £6,334,539 £6,334,5393 The Lucky One (Warner Bros) £1,159,435 £1,159,4354 Beauty And The Beast 3D (Walt Disney) £685,024 £685,0245 Safe (Momentum) £679,716 £679,7166 Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (Lionsgate) £641,051 £4,470,9167 The Hunger Games (Lionsgate) £346,807 £23,059,9248 The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists (Sony) £318,039 £15,302,7349 Silent House (Studio Canal) £214,731 £214,73110 Mirror Mirror (Studio Canal) £207,319 £6,886,603
So Avengers 3 day went up a bit. $13.1m. Excellent drop. Monday was around £3.5m then, just like Rth said. The Hunger Games is going dead now, but it's been a fantastic run. Nearly a 5x multiplier. Total in $ will be 38-39m.As for this weekend, it could be close. The Avengers will do something like £4.5m, and Dark Shadows could so £3-4m, but I'm not too sure. AR will probably have quite a big drop to around £4m-ish too as it was a 5 day opening. Edited by Heretic

That's good news. And yes, looks like £50m could happen after all. Only needs £16.7m more. After a £8.1m weekend and £11.6m 4 day, that should be achievable.Perhaps as high as £55m, depending on later legs. That would be $89m... but I like to keep expectations in check.

So basically anywhere from $80-100m is possible. Holy shit.

Beauty and the Beast did okay considering it wasn't advertised and The Lucky One's total is five days so I imagine BATB beat it. American Pie did incredible and had it not been against Avengers would have number 1 pretty easily. The Hunger Games has done very well, Catching Fire will be bigger.

Of course RTH was right. B)
