Solo: A Star Wars Story – Disney’s second Star Wars franchise spin-off since its acquired the brand following Rogue One: A Star Wars Story – failed to light up the UK box office this weekend, posting a Fri-Sun total of £4.85m from 684 sites.

That number added to £1.2m from its opening day on Thursday (May 24), with a further £1.55m on the bank holiday Monday (May 28) taking it to a running total of £7.6m.

Avengers: Infinity War is now on a superb £66.2m after adding £1.2m from the three-day weekend, its fifth weekend on release, and a further £450,000 on the bank holiday.

Deadpool 2 is now up to £21.8m after adding £4.9m over the four-day UK weekend.

Wow, IW at 9x Solo right now, vs less than 7x in the US.

The crippling weather will have had a big impact, give it a while and the gap will close.

Saying that a movie could have been bigger in a market is not trolling. I wasn’t even attacking anyone. And you are right about me not hating avengers since I’m an actual MCU fan. I wanted the movie to hit 2B and feel tricked and betrayed by the predictions here.

As for my age: I’m young but I’m not that young, old but I’m not that old.

Relax , it will pass 2 billion.:sparta:

U.K. cinemas preparing for Jurassic World on Wednesday:

The clearout begins:

My local, a top 10 grossing cinema from Wednesday:

Solo loses 6 showings (down to 12)

Deadpool 2 loses 4 showtimes (down to 8)

Infinity War is down to 4.

Avengers and Deadpool are only keeping 1 evening show each.

For me JW2 has 2.5 screens, DP2 1, Solo 0.75 (loses evening) and AIW 1.

So Solo has been dropped drastically from the 3 screens last week, as most of them were pretty bare

Am I the only person who doesn't think Mamma Mia 2 will outgross Mamma Mia? The first was so big I dont see why it will get an increase...?

I agree, I'm not so sure of an increase, but it will definitely do fuck tonnes and be one of the biggest this year

I think it's an easy £50m+

I also think there's a novelty factor in the first one and you have to be a genuine fan of the first to go see the second... similar to Deadpool actually which had a big decline.

If I remember correctly, Mamma Mia! Is the biggest selling dvd ever in the UK.

So it’s audience could’ve expanded.

I don’t think it’ll get to those record breaking heights. But it could be huge.
