The movie is scheduled for the New Year weekend in Vietnam. Will be a 4 days holiday weekend. All pandemic restrictions should be lifted by then. Could add ~2m total i think, despite piracy problem.

You can say that to yesterday but today hold is also very exceptional at 24% drop from last Thursday. If they can keep this pace throughout the weekend, sub 30% 2nd weekend hold is guaranteed

surprised there isn't a report about OS number through Wednesday. usually Screendaily or something like that reports them.

Dune's second-weekend drop in Greece was 42%. I expected a smaller drop, to be fair. There will be a lot of fertile ground for the sequel to grow.

Even though this is int. thread, Dune is showing great legs despite HBO Max domestically:

 

Dune crossed yesterday $50m domestic, should be around $51.6m and add today about $3m to close first week around $54.6m. Showing great legs so. Even better than NTTD despite HBO Max. IMAX/PLF (must see on the big screen) definitely one major factor and WOM another. Still on its way for 50-55% drop for the 2nd weekend and even sub 50% possible but can change still and we won't know it until Monday for sure. If these legs hold, could finish 2nd week over $80m before Eternals arrive.

Yeah, these kind of legs (estimates) in Europe:

It had a very good hold this week in the Netherlands (holiday week) +7% over last weekend. It will end up with a multi of about 5 (not including previews), it's very sad that it had NTTD (on it's way to become the nr 5 or 4 biggest movie in the Netherlands) in it's 3rd weekend otherwise a multi of 7+ could have happened.

Yes, NTTD landing at the time when Dune was storming Europe was unfortunate but it shows it would have done better if WB slotted it better. If it opened a week after SC OS for example, it would've had longer legs.

It's holding well dom so while HBO Max has stolen some viewers looks like word spread it should be seen in cinemas.

Very nice hold again in Germany (only -8% according to the first trend = 65k admissions in week 7). Could it be that Dune sees nice weekend holds in other countries too because the now guaranteed happening of part 2 encourages people to see the first movie?

If CM drop could soften thanks to appearing in the Endgame trailer,  which was released a day before CM's second weekend, why wouldn't Dune benefit from sequel announcement? And Dune was holding well already so this is a bonus good hold.

Looks like only 9%! drop on Friday from last week in South Korea with $5.1m total after ten days. Sweet.
