Now it must be said, at some point the data is the data.  Oppenheimer is showing surprising strength while in bottom of the U curve of pre-sales and that has to be noted.  Just don't really know how well, ya know? 

it does have to do something crazy to have good OW. Current numbers put it ahead of Indy 5 which is going to open to ~70m. Oppenheimer has lower threshold for success. So even with average finish it will have good OW. Let us see how things go.

3 days of data. Pace has picked up with some positive reviews/reactions but still no where looking like a 100m opener. Something crazy has to happen final week for that to be possible. 

 

Friday sales are still below Oppenheimer. :-)

It seems like most of us have given up on this opening anywhere near 100 million.  80-90 would be great. 70-80 more likely. Just hoping wom will be less divisive than the critical reaction so far and it will work as a crowdpleaser to the regular folk.

It’s disappointing to see this and Flash kind of running out of gas. I thought both would be easy $100M openers. Nostalgia doesn’t always work I guess.

Just hoping to enjoy both movies at this point. Cant do anything about the box office for either except the money I spend.  Indiana Jones is a franchise long past its peak and the Flash has too much baggage to overcome.
