IndustriousAngel
For IO, Is still possible for it to reach 40m USD? At the same time,Up did 16m and io 20m if estimates hold, that's a fucking sweet drop and 40mil are definitely possible!
Arthur Pendragon
Will at least double the latest Pixar releases, yes. In Austria, it's running even better and had an increase in week 2. Fantastic. Thanks

IndustriousAngel
For achieving 500m from international markets, io has to hold very well in this market..40m please I think it can do it, the hold this week in face of HT2 opening is really spectacular. But that's not the only story atm, there's also domestic comedy "Er ist wieder da" which might go up by 10% or more compared to opening weekend - it had a slight expansion but the PTA is still very good and I can definitely see another expansion and a very good hold again next week - 2mil total seem already locked but as long as it doesn't start to fall it's hard to say how high it can go. And "The Martian", after the ok but not overwhelming opening, is showing some staying power, too: A 20% drop is fantastic and it's also having strong midweek evenings.

IndustriousAngel
at my theatre, the 8pm show on opening day (Thu) is the only one with a sizeable amount of seats sold (about 25%), but presales have just started - let's wait a week

FJG2 is now the most successful 2015 release, with 6,9mil admissions it overtook Minions (which crossed 6,8 this weekend). Crimson Peak was disappointing but I think nobody was expecting a hit anyway - but the fact that many cheap horror releases get more admissions than this is embarassing. Next weekend: Apart from PA:The Ghost Dimension, there are no releases with mass appeal, so expect good holds once more.

IndustriousAngel
First trend for Germany from insidekino: #1: er ist wieder da - 340k admissions (-15%, 3mil total seem possible but hard) #2: Inside Out - 310k (-30%, seems a bit steep) #3: Hotel Trans. 2 - 225k (-40%) #4: The martian - 190k (-25%) #5: FJG2 - 175k (-35%) best opener: PA-GD with about 130k; Last Witch Hunter opens to about 110k incl. some previews
