"Sex Tape" as expected with a good opening, but all other openers did ok, too! "A Most Wanted Man" with the 2nd-highest PTA., nice and should see a slight expansion. After 2 weeks of drops, I had my doubts if QecqoafaBD could reach 3mil admissions (as the very first 2014 release, too!) but after this weekend's increase - in face of a nr.1 comedy opener - that number is locked. T4 is still number one for 2014 with a little over 2.5mil admissions, both HTTYD2 and QecqoafaBD will overtake it next weekend - the comedy a bit faster thanks to strong weekday numbers. But TF will still lead in $$$ right? I imagine QecqoafaBD lacking 3D keps it's gross lower. What about HTTYD2?
IndustriousAngel
T4 is faaar ahead in US$ ... HTTYD2 has a lot of cheap family tickets and lower 3D share.
pepsa
Was that a good drop for GOTG?
IndustriousAngel
Was that a good drop for GOTG? It's having better drops than Lucy, so at least not bad. The legs are better than your average actioner's but worse than a comedy's, as you would expect with this movie.
lab276
Admissions are close-ish to matching last year through the same point.

Poseidon
Just saw Fack ju Göhte today. And yesterday. Fantastic comedy. 8.5/10 Looks like WOM kicked in in the Czech Republic, too, with admissions going up on WE #3. It's really a funny movie.
IndustriousAngel
I haven't seen it but the fact that it had more than 7mil admissions in Germany speaks for itself. We're still waiting for our first 3mil-"GoldenScreen" this year
pepsa
The Hobbit won't reach 7M admission? I think that is to high, what do you guys think?
IndustriousAngel
If I'd had to bet - no, won't reach 7mil. First weekend trend is in: #1: SexTape - 200k admissions (-45%, ouch) #2: undecided as there are 3 films with about 125k admissions: QecqoafaBD, GotG and BieneMaja #5: SinCity2 - 110k (ouch) "Schoßgebete" opened MUCH lower than "Feuchtgebiete" - trend sees 25k for the weekend - ooouuuchhh! You predict Maja for 125k admissions? How do animations fare in germany? I thought that was a german production, on something that was on TV and is a well known, liked character. IndustriousAngel
It's doing ok, the animation looks really really cheap if somebody wants my opinion (which nobody does). Also, weather is better this weekend which is always bad for family movies - watching a movie is only choice #3 or #4 on your average weekend activities list. Animation as a whole is fine in Germany, the MadPenguins later this year have a good chance of reaching 3mil admissions.

Especially that they have a cheaper family tickets promo with a big chain of supermarkets across the country. A ton of trailers for it. Hell one network runs them even on non animated adult movies including horrors (seen a promo for the cheaper ticket Maja before As Above so below ...) juni78ukr
I remember Insidekino predicted 1.3 mln admissions for Maja. Obviously not happening now. I wonder if Der 7bte Zwerg will do better next week.
IndustriousAngel
Well, 1mil can easily happen with those numbers - considering how much impact weather has on the kids market.
bapi
Looks like WOM kicked in in the Czech Republic, too, with admissions going up on WE #3. It's really a funny movie. Absolutely. I think people were expecting something dumb like 'Mädchen, Mädchen' but Fack ju Göhte is actually a great movie (78% on ČSFD, 22JS has 81%). Wonder when we'll see american remake... with Colin Farrell?
IndustriousAngel
Final weekend trend - Sex Tape with a nice hold! SinCity 2 misses 100k admissions even including previews ... #1: SexTape - 240k admissions (-35%) #2: GotG - 120k (-40%) #2: QeyqoafaBD - 120k (-35%) #4: BieneMaja - 100k (-40%) #5: SinCity2 - 85k (including previews) overall slow weekend with bad drops even from WOM monsters ...

(Even 3mil is a bit low for "blockbuster" imho; 5 or 6mil define a real hit)
