But isn't the actual weekend of Magic Mike at 110k? And Avatar at 200k, so it's an easy win for Avatar or is it not? Tbh i wouldn't count the previews

that's what I meant, actual weekend should be quite a bit higher than 110k - not enough I guess but it's getting closer than expected

at least a good hold for Otto ... but overall business is behind my expectations, none of the openers is breaking out

Avatar become actually highest grossing film in Germany ,but Titanic re-release make it keep the champion,it will beating the re-release and OG combined in next few days

Hope for a bigger weekend for Avatar 2.

Tuesday should be big for Titanic - presales look really, really good - hoping for 30k on Tuesday alone (with a shot at 50k).

While there were a lot of releases >10k admissions, nothing really stood out … with so many openers, I was hoping for an uptick in Business but instead we saw drops. Overall, boring numbers …

In Austria, Avatar and Magic Mike on #1 and #3 as in Germany but Maurice was #2 here.

Next weekend: The 3rd Ant-Man movie is grabbing the big screens and should finish Avatar's run of won weekends - well, 9 times #1 is ok I'd say! But I don't believe Ant-Man will set the BO on fire … presales look pretty low atm and anything above 400k Wed-Sun would surprise me very much. Also opening: Perfect Addiction for the teenie crowd, maybe a good opening week thanks to the Valentine's rush, and Spanish family CGI movie Moomios (the market for kids is pretty full atm I'd say but with holidays in more and more regions, maybe room enough for one more).

avatar 2 10 times as many tickets as ant man

pretty, pretty, pretty good, I tip my non-existent hat to the german (and by extension the european) people

hows 10 million in the first run looking? If its close will disney do expansions to get it over the line or is that just something they do in the dom market?

I don't know about Disney but in Austria, distributors and theaters made such late-run-cheap-ticket weeks for last year's Maverick and Guglhupfgeschwader to push them above 600k resp. 300k.

So, I can really see Disney pushing this to get some headlines - of course, in the long rune, with re-release before A3, it will surpass this number with ease anyway.

It will surpass 10M without re-release, but does someone know why Titanic is expected to have 0% drop ?

It´s a mega success, no movie, except A1, of course has crossed this magical barrier in the last 20 years, so, besides how is moviegoing right now, i see it even more successful than the first part.
