Well, coming from the worst weekend of the year, that's not that difficult, and the Saturday trend looks bad for Oblivion:

#1: Oblivion 165k

#2: Mama 160k

#3: IGIAY 140k

#4 Croods 100k

#5 Ostwind 50k

#6 GIJoe2 40k

 

So there's even a slight possibility Oblivion loses the weekend (though I think Mama will come in a little lower, still very good opening for an original horror movie)

The best we can say about last weekend is that there were some decent drops.

This weekend doesn't look much better; "Scary Movie V" will likely do a decent opening and should become #1 but burn like a straw fire. Released on a smaller scale, "Side Effects" might enter the Top 10. There's nothing opening for kids so i expect some good holds for family films again, especially Croods and Ostwind.

Not as bad as feared; actually some good holds. The biggest surprise for me is how well "Mama" is holding.

Iron Man 3 is starting today with afternoon shows; it will dominate the weekend but presales are not that strong; I think it will do better, but not much better than IM2.

Very good, 2nd best 2013 weekend behind Django! Superheroes were always a tough sell here but for Marvel, the persistence seems to pay off - they create their audience as they move along!

Sunday trend looks not that good, beautiful weather keeps people outdoors - still a great opening for IM3!
