3. Trend:
Spider-Man - No Way Home (360T), The King's Man - The Beginning (135T), House of Gucci (70T), Clifford, der große rote Hund (67,5T), Matrix Resurrections (65T), Die Schule der magischen Tiere (27,5T), The 355 (25T), Kesisme - Iyi ki Varsin Eren (22,5T).

Idk why but 8% drop this weekend for NWH after a holiday weekend. Thank you Germany

Because previous weekend was deflated due to New Year eve and New Year day.

4M seems likely I guess ?

Why doesn't it do the same in France ? that's a shame

NWH had an awesome 4th WE with 375k (-4%) and reached 3,21M admissions (and thereby passed SM3 3,205M).

Kingsman 140k

Gucci 72,5k (+7%) 827,5k

Matrix 67,5k (-17%) 455k

Clifford 65k (+38%) 385k, the 6th is the biggest WE yet, +70% from OW.

NTTD on Friday became the first movie since Frozen2 to reach 6M.

Oh easy 4M.

MarkG said that for 4M : "Still only a 1 in 3 chance as weekday numbers will be poor again starting tomorrow... Still going with 3.8m right now..." but I hope he is wrong

Ok weekend with good increases for family stuff (and the Turkish release) and decent drops; the openers however were underwhelming. No Time To Die has finally crossed 6mil total, and Spidey took the 3mil hurdle with good speed and might really leg it to 4mil! Also good result for domestic children's book adaption Die Schule der magischen Tiere which crossed 1,5mil (which seemed impossible after the November Covid situation but here we are back in business!)

Next weekend: No big releases but Spencer might bring back some long-absent customers, and Scream should  profit from the absence of any competition in the horror segment, maybe enough for #3.

Damn No Time to Die has incredible numbers, for comparison how many tickets have Spectre and Skyfall sold?

I think 6,05M admits for NTTD and 3,9M for NWH

Only one bigger change in the second trend:

#1 NWH 225k/3.495M total admissions
#2 Scream 95k
#3 The King's Man 70k/230k
#4 House of Gucci 50k/897.5k
#5 Clifford 40k/430k
#6 Matrix4 35k/505k
#7 Encanto 27.5k
...
Spencer 30k (with previews I guess)

Ps: It's change of course, tsk tsk.

#3 The King's Man 75k/237.5k
#4 House of Gucci 55k/902.5k
#5 Clifford 42.5k/430k - 7th weekend which is better than its release weekend
#6 Matrix4 35k/507.5k
#7 Spencer 35k
#8 Encanto 27.5k/562.5k

Good hold for No Way Home and an ok opening for Scream; I had hoped for a much better PTA from Spencer … nice late legs for domestic comedy Contra btw; it had a poor opening but was able to build a lot of good WOM it seems, will pass 700k this week!

Next weekend: Again, no really big openers; Sing 2 has little to no family competition but the after-chrismas-market is difficult - the first Sing movie legged it to 2,4mil total admissions but that was from an early December opening. I'd say a 200k OW would be a success. Nightmare Alley starts with very little noise, hopefully it can do better than the Matrix Resurrections …

Will NWH loose next weekend ?

no idea to be honest; as mentioned, Sing2 is in a much more difficult market situation than the first one. presales are low but that doesn't say much about a family release, in the german market presales are always low for the kids.

My guess would be that Spidey wins another weekend and Sing2 comes in a strong 2nd.
