Told you Jurassic World would play the legs game ;)

Despite Top Gun leading thursday and friday, JWD played super strong during the weekend, that said the legs of Top Gun Maverick sure are impressive as hell. The weekend overal is -10% and next weekend Lightyear is looking to beat some pandemic family records.

Yesterday Lightyear sold 189k tickets (around R$3.5M, more than double of Dominion), EEAAO will have a 7-days previews and released at 6th.

Today and yesterday are extended holidays, expect another really solid weekend for TGM and JWD.

During the holiday yesterday, Dominion sold 175k tickets while Maverick sold 139k. Lightyear was the third best thursday of the year so it is very impressive of these 3. Dominion actually sold more now than it did on its official release, that is a lol.

Also Maverick have passed Noah's R$67.8M and is now the second best selling Paramount movie of the country. Soon it will pass Shrek 2 for the all-time record.

10 The Desperate Hours 96.000 -82.9% 798.000 39.520

3 way race for the top and yup, those are not good legs for Lightyear. Worse that the average ticket price for the movie is above R$20, what means that this first weekend was mainly dominated by grown ups instead of little kids. A good news is that since is june and school is out could lead to good weekdays, it is not doom yet, legs will most likely show up later. On better news, Maverick is already the best selling movie from Paramount, Dominion is on the way to beat Fallen Kingdom and Amigo Seceto had the best opening for a brazilian documentary of the pandemic. Overall it was the 5th best weekend of the year.

Next weekend is mostly empty with the full release of EEAAO.

This weekend, Top Gun is back at the top and Lightyear is down to 3rd. This weekend was São João, where many are out for festivities so it was rough for every movie, overall the ranking is down 52%. Lightyear is bugging me, because not only it had a big drop but the weekdays are bad for a Disney movie, kids are not in at all for it. On good news, EEAAO had a really good launch, it was out on just 132 screenings so it had an excelent average, I hope it can expand like it did on US.

Next weekend is time for Minions 2, Cliff Walkers and A Colmeia.

Minions 2 released with 130k tickets sold, bellow the 189k admissions from the Lightyear's holiday release. Also the movie managed to ressurrect Sing 2, that is back at 8th place.

The first movie did R$22M on its opening weekend and the legs took it to R$146.8M, it is the top grossing animated movie of the country excluding the Lion King remake.
