I remember reading on Filme B last month that numbers went down in June in both ADMs and R$, I wonder if this is thanks to the lack of appealing movies? Or if the crisis is finally affecting our growing? Anyway, I'm pretty sure that 2017 is going to decrease in ADMs, it will be the first year to suffer a decrease since we became one of the main markets. Dying? Really? Hyperbolic statement to say the least. There's nothing special about June 2017 being lower than June 2016, this kind of things happens all the time : sometimes months are lower than the same months of the previous year, it doesn't grow every month. The numbers in local currency show us this year is clearly strong, no change here. It's likely to have a healthy growth, particularly in USD. Mockingjay Raphael
June was not the only month of year suffering a decrease, and it wouldn't surprise me if July end decreasing as well. It's obvious that numbers in $ would look better, ER was at R$4,00 last year and it's sitting at R$3,10 now. I'm more interested in the ADMs numbers, they're the only one the matters when it comes to growth, do you have the numbers of ADMs to date? I can't find it anywhere. Fullbuster
@XO21 Spider-Man Homecoming reached R$99.2m (+5m since last weekend), meaning it should be around $31m, not $29.9m

This movie was a big disappointment here. It practically grossed twice more than the first one in local currency and got a healthy jump in USD despite the terrible exchange rate So no : it did very well Plus this movie was never destined to be in the top 10 given the first movie only grossed $16m in 2014, it's never been big in the first place. At least GOTG2 got a very healthy growth. Edited August 7, 2017 by Fullbuster

Huge difference in exchange rate! Ice Age and other movies were so lucky to have benefited that much from the older exchange rates. Fullbuster
Thanks to Spider-Man Homecoming reaching $31m the top 5 of the year is now bigger than the top 5 of 2016, pretty impressive! By adding Justice League that will probably go beyond $40m that will be quite interesting.

This movie was a big disappointment here. Catastrophic, indeed. I still can't believe that it managed to sell less tickets than Doctor Strange, an obscure adaptation of a Character that we never heard before the movie. The biggest problem with GOTG2's run was the WOM, it opened quite well (thanks to the holiday, of course), but then dropped liked a rock, it barely had a 3.0x which is pretty bad for Brazil's standard, Wonder Woman, per example, managed a 4.8x and it didn't have a whole month to itself plus two holidays to boost it's performance like GOTG2 did. If GOTG2 didn't manage to increase a huge amount on its predecessor, it is thanks to the lack of quality of the movie, which is not a surprise, considering how awful the movie is. Aren't you tired of trolling? Why do you bring this pitiful DC/Marvel war here? THIS IS THE TRUTH ABOUT GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 : GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY IN BRAZIL : R$38m / $16.8m GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 IN BRAZIL : R$67m / $20.9m GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 : +76% in local currency / +24% in USD despite the strong fall of the Brazilian currency these last few years CONCLUSION : An impressive growth for the sequel of a movie despite the fact a crisis erupted since then and led to a very disadvantageous exchange rate. 2
