14M post-holidays january weekdays is plenty esp. for a 3 hour flick. Keep in mind R1 did like 7 and NWH 9.5 or something like that, so 14 is not even pessimistic at all and it wouldn't really be shocking if it went below that. This will be a weekend film from here on out.

 

The weekends are going to be where you have to watch this film (and I think it can more than match TGM here personally, even beyond inflated 5th weekend). The weekdays are going to be taking on water every day.

 

If you're rooting for this to beat TGM, you are basically rooting for the weekends to keep TGM's weekly gain low enough that it can't eat up A2's lead.

They should not have to come up with a new plan. Just stick with the old one. Start filming and working on parts 4 and 5 immediately. Paralelly, Finish part 3 and release it in 2024. 

 

DO NOT delay any sequel any more. Release part 4 in 2026 and part 5 in 2028. Make sure part 5 is a hard ending and a definite conclusion of the story.

 

Trim the sequels so they're under 180 minutes in length. It will help psychologically with the general audience.

i got the "they need to trim these under 3 hours" talk on opening weekend but the way things are going now Avatar 3 is probably going to be around 225 minutes.

Yeah you can def tell by some of the editing that a LOT was cut out, possibly quite late on too to try and get the film down a reasonable length.

 

I hope he doesnt cut the sequels too much. Give me 3+ hours for all of them.
