The Wild Eric
Weirdly claustrophobic poster
filmlover
For a movie clearly dealing with a difficult topic (domestic abuse), the poster design feels on point.

MUCH better than the book cover: It's a decent enough design divorced from the context of the plot, but just paints the picture of a very different sort of story than what it's actually about. CIDMoosa
How's the presales tracking? It's been two days since it went on sale. Edited July 19 by CIDMoosa
filmlover
FWIW the early sales for this near me are looking very promising. I'm thinking it opens similarly to what Where the Crawdads Sing did two years ago.

baumer
Okay when Ryan Reynolds and Wolverine are promoting this movie, that's a pretty genius and brilliant move.
Jay Beezy
This weekend should be interesting since the opening weekend projections of this is set to be a close race with Deadpool's third weekend projections. Funny for Deadpool to give this a helping hand with promotion. 😆

filmlover
lol they're at the premiere tonight too. I guess that's one way to try get demos outside the target audience (those comic book movie blogs/site would never touch a film like this otherwise just like they wouldn't have cared about the Tom Holland Romeo & Juliet play if not for his participation) to pay for a ticket. Payback for Blake Lively;s cameo in "Deadpool and Wolverine", And don;t forget BLake and Ryan are Mr and Mrs Reynolds in real life.

You think Ryan is not going to plug his Wife's movie?
dudalb
Just struck me some people don't know that Reynolds and Lively are married and have a daughter.

He was obviously going to show up to the premiere as her +1 but didn't expect him and Jackman to end up being a part of this movie's marketing campaign lol. These female-driven literature adaptations tend to play to limited demos for the most part so they must be thinking the extra publicity opening within close proximity will only help (even if there's no convincing a portion of Deadpool & Wolverine's audience to see a movie like this).
