filmlover Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 (edited) No release date yet but trailer just dropped for this acclaimed title from Sundance. Edited March 8, 2023 by filmlover 3 Quote
Lucas Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Heard a lot about this, hopefully it doesn't take too long for it to come out. Quote
CoolioD1 Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 "acclaimed title from sundance" always seems to be something to be cautious of, but this looks good. Of course it is A24 so that means they're gonna have to be bullied into releasing it here months after the US release. 1 Quote

kestrel Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 That's better than the first poster, but given some of the beautiful, creative posters that A24 has put out in the past, it's weird that their recent ones have just been the title over a screenshot. Quote
cannastop Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 Definitely want to see this movie... I think an indie theater might show it next month near where I live. 1 Quote
interiorgatordecorator Posted May 27, 2023 Posted May 27, 2023 movie seemed interesting but then I saw the trailer and learned the girl was happily married; this isn't a story about the girl's husband willingly cucking himself, is it? 1 Quote
LegionWrex Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 Super excited for this one. Couple of people I really trust saw it at Sundance and said it was one of the best movies they've ever seen from the fest so I'm pumped. I'm more curious on how much it will break out. A24 seems to be 50/50 sometimes with their releases. 1 Quote
cannastop Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 (edited) Holy shit the top critics average for this on Rotten tomatoes is 9.6/10! With 44 reviews! I might see this movie... it's playing kind of near me. If it's playing next week, maybe. Edited June 15, 2023 by cannastop Quote
lorddemaxus Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 Too similar to Before Sunset (my 2nd favorite film of all time) for me for it to really work and the backstory stuff was a bit of a bore, but I had a really nice time with this. 1 Quote
Eric Dylan Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 Loved the hell out of this. Quietly devastating, yet utterly charming at the same time. It captures that "what might have been" feeling we all go through and the acting and direction is top-notch. Really glad this is doing solid business specialty-wise and I hope this isn't lost in the shuffle when awards season comes. Quote
titanic2187 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 A24 has this move to digital 12 weekend after the OW, one week longer than EEAAO. It made $10.7m, a step down from the comparable title The Farewell in 2019 but is still an as good as it get given the situation at the indie market. Quote
CoolioD1 Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 A bit disappointed because i am a big fan of all the movies that this movie is trying to be. It was OK but found it thin. Would probably be better as a short story. Quote
lorddemaxus Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 I really feel like I haven't seen myself reflected in a movie like Magaro in this. Like the whole convo he has on bed with Lee's character is literally the kind of shit I'd be saying. Quote
