Horror movies do not have Marvel level budgets or shoots with some very few exceptions like IT

HummingLemon496
Somebody is saying $1.4-1.6B WW for Spider-Man 4. If it's a multiverse (or multiverse related) movie with connections to Doomsday on December 18th, 2026 then it could absolutely do that. HummingLemon496
Here is why Spider-Man 4 might not release on December 18th, 2026: There's currently an undetermined Denis Villeneuve/WB/Legendary film on that date, which could be Dune: Messiah or something else. Spider-Man would probably have enough muscle to bully it off that date, but it would risk not having IMAX screens if the other side doesn't blink. Since Denis claimed the date first, he almost certainly got first dibs on IMAX exclusivity.

If it really does tie into the end of Venom 3 somehow they're probably waiting to announce that/sign Hardy
HummingLemon496
DP3 beating Barbie makes me wonder if the R-Rating has any hinderance on the DOM gross of movies. In other countries they make it so that anybody below 17/18 straight up can't see it but in the US any kid can watch it as long as they have somebody who's 18+ with them

The only hindrance to R ratings having massive box offices is that studios typically make sure that their biggest pieces of content can appeal to the most people, and the most appealing films at the box office tend to be PG13. If Endgame, The Force Awakens or Avatar for some reason had an R rating, they would maybe lose 1-2% of their DOM BO.

If it was because of sex/nudity then it would have hurt.

Mad Max007
Watched the first episode of Agatha and it's surprisingly good, heard it gets even better with upcoming episodes and the numbers show it. The early hate campaign would have anyone think it was Titans or Inhumans level of bad.
HummingLemon496
Doctor Strange 2 had more hype than Deadpool 3 but it only made 2/3rds of it in domestic total. It's crazy how much they fumbled the bag. With good reception it would've made more than Maverick WW-China.

Deadpool was/is considerably more popular as a character than Strange was, even before Wolverine was added. The real tell is Deadpool HELD much better, though.

If it had as good reception as D&W it would've opened higher than D&W's $211.44M. DS2 was PG-13 so kids could add to the hype. 1

Good enough to not cause it to go from 211+ to a mere lowly 187.
