Relevation
24 minutes ago, Geo1500 said: Don´t see this happening at all. It has made 400k on monday DOM and from here on out the DOM is dried out. It will make like 1m next weekend DOM. As for the Inernational market alot of other movies are opening hence I expect 4-5m international weekend and after that 1m international weekend. It is losing alot of screens besides the summer is over as all it´s demographic has gone back to school. It will be luck if it can even gather another 15m globally How does it only add another $15M globally if it just had a weekend of $17M globally, like what lmao Adding another $50-60M globally from here seems not only doable but easy given the kinds of holds it’s been posting both domestically and overseas, and a 71% drop next weekend domestically with no major new releases is ludicrous to even consider, and so is that overseas drop $1.67B at the very least is locked and there is no shot it drops even close to as badly as you’re predicting next weekend, this post just reads like doomerism 10

HummingLemon496
Jurassic World started out at number 2 on the non-cheating domestic top 10. Here are the brave soldiers who worked to kick it out Rey T'Challa The Avengers The Avengers (again) Spider-Man Pete "Maverick" Mitchelle Jake Sully Riley Anderson Deadpool (50/50 but trust the process) Also, funny to note that at end of 2015 TFA was #1 and JW was #3. Now JW is getting kicked to #11 while TFA is still #1. Inflation can't take down SW lmao Spoiler For those who don't get it Star Wars: The Force Awakens Black Panther Avengers: Infinity War Avengers: Endgame Spider-Man: No Way Home Top Gun: Maverick Avatar: The Way of Water Inside Out 2 Deadpool & Wolverine Edited August 20 by HummingLemon496

TS4 did just under 265K on equivalent Monday and grossed another 9.36m post that. IO2 did 450K yesterday and if it has similar run would do another 15.9m. But IO2 is doing better than TS4 and I expect that to continue. They will also expand the movie wide again for sure. Overseas its not even a joke. Japan alone can do another 15m and its still making money in many leggy european markets. I think @Cooper Legion has extrapolated where it can end up. I think its going for something close to 1.7B WW at this point.

He's wrong but I don't think he's trolling And yeah this shit is LOCKED for $1.7B+, after that if we really wanna stretch it the final-final milestone is 2x IO1 Also unrelated but IO2 kicked TA 2012 out of the top 10 WW means that every movie in the top 10 WW has made $1B+ OS. IO2 is doing $1B+ OS with basically nothing from China which makes it even more impressive Edited August 20 by HummingLemon496

Darth Lehnsherr
Shrek 5 if it had the same competition as Inside Out 2 I'd bet on making more but the 2026 Summer being as stacked as it is it's an uphill battle (still possible ofc).

It did 400k this monday and will drop another 50% next monday that means Dom basically ending plus it is losing screens. I agree it could still earn some cash from Japan but that is without taking into account all the movies that will open in the weekend and the amount of screens its gonna lose. I expect it to start making 0.1m per day from next monday in Japan. It has been here 10 weeks that is a long run and it is natural that it will wind down and the example of this thread is like shaking upside down an empty mayonnaise bottle trying to get another 100m out of it. Not to forget it is out on streaming platform and VOD now Edited August 21 by Geo1500 1 1

The fact it’s still making over 400k on weekdays this far out in its run is insane. And besides, the demand will switch to weekends instead of weekdays. It made 3.4m and dropped 28% last weekend. No way it drops 70%. And internationally it’s holding well in the markets it has left and Japan is still providing money, and there is no indication there is any collapse in store for Japan yet. Not related particularly to your post, but a fun fact is that Inside Out 2 is tied with Kung Fu Panda 4 for most weeks in the top ten this year. Quigley
In Greece, 'Inside Out 2' enjoyed another splendid hold (-34%), which propelled its total admissions to 629,536. It has just surpassed 'Mamma Mia' (622,200 admissions). Based on incomplete data that goes back to the mid-90s, it ranks somewhere between 14th and 18th place on the all-time list of Hollywood films. I think its going for something close to 1.7B WW at this point. Just to follow on from your point. I've been using Incredibles 2 for my model on its DOM total and it has been almost spot on to that. FWIW, I2 made over $14M more DOM after yesterday and IO2 is doing much better than I2 at this point. Should realistically make another $18-20M DOM by the end of its run. I have it ending somewhere in the $661M range DOM. Given its Labor Day Expansion it should pass both $650M DOM and JW's DOM total on Labor Day weekend and right now my model has it passing $660M DOM on Sun Sep 15 (Day 94). Given its holds both DOM and Intl it still has alot of money to make in terms of late legs. My expectation right now is that it will end up #10 DOM, #10 Intl and #8 WW.
cannastop
I think the next time when we get an international BO update for Inside Out 2, about $7 million of that comes from Japan alone.

Han134
Inside Out 2 has been released digitally now. Here's the digitalized version of Inside Out 2's opening logo (ignore the first video because it has used the company's respective fanfares, not the movie's opening theme) Actual's opening theme:
