How is Europe holding up?

I don't think it is underperforming in China YET... Since the projected OW is on par with GOTG 3, it is just quite likely to have mediocre legs and becomes an average $55M-$60M grosser (well below GOTG3's total $87M). Honestly don't know what a good expectation would be for deadpool in China so this is probably fine, at least it's not pulling a "$15M total" BPWF type of performance.

x3 multi for a generic superhero flick is a lot to ask, even if competition is not very strong.

Wouldn't need x3 if it reaches or exceeds the $225m OS weekend estimates. GOTG3 did 2.9x without Summer weekdays.

Not really underperforming in Mexico, OW will be double of DP2. Japan was never big on CBMs with a few exceptions. China is likely gonna beat DP2, okay considering the circumstances. SK is doing bad though.

I think the most important for D&W to surpass the billion dollars mark is the second weekend .

MOM : 450M : 1St Weekend , 688M after second weekend (-47%)

Thor 4 : 302M : 1st Weekend , 498M after 2nd Weekend (-35%)

BPWF : 330M : 1st Weekend , 546M after second Weekend (-34%)

GOTG 3 : 282M : 1st Weekend , 529M after Second Weekend (-13%)

There’s nothing of notice coming out for weeks after this. WOM is fine. No reason that it shouldn’t do it. Not like a top gun is coming in a few weeks

Well, it's probably one of those movies everyone already knows whether they want to see it or don't so decent reviews + very strong audience reaction may not make such a huge difference.

I don't know if the WOM is good but around 25M Weekend for me in China

Good WOM, but it will have to share IMAX/PLF screens with the movie of Detective Chinatown's director. So expect a softer Sat increase.

seems will be a 50-50 split

It seems like it is more warmly received domestically than most of everywhere else, probably will be the most domestic heavy deadpool film.

It has just as good reception most places OS aswell. It’s first and foremost SK where the wom isn’t good. Even China is good

The fact that the awful Thor 4 didn't drop by 50% is a real miracle, it's a pity so many people still decided to watch it even after seeing the reviews (which in my opinion were still too kind)

D&W is not far from MoM in its first two days overseas. With China, the international opening shall be very close. $450M WW opening could come.

Quote

FRIDAY UPDATE, Refresh for latest Disney/Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness continued casting a spell over the international box office on Thursday, lifting the running offshore cume to $85.7M through two days of release. Combined with Thursday’s $36M in domestic previews, the global total so far is already $121.7M — and the weekend has barely begun.
