So Seydoux is not playing the token "french femme fatale" this time despite being called "Madeleine"? Strange that they'd go with a french girl with a pronunced accent to play a scandinavian character. Craig can teach her though speaking of "english speaking with a fake scandinavian accent" though.(That was really weird in GWTDT)

 

I think they adapted the role to fit her, adding a bit more generic-European/francophone to it (in the latest script she does speak French in her first scene), after they cast Lea. But it's a role that given the character, pretty much had to be northern-European, ideally Danish. It'd be more jarring if someone like Cruz played a northern-European role, if you know what I mean.
