Have you watched Jaws, the god father, the excorcist, bridge over river quay, Lawrence of Arabia, dr zchivago, shawshenk redemption, glen Gary glen Ross, good fellas. If not, do so, timeless entertainment. Then ill give you a few more. Also, anything hitchcock or frank capra, Cary Grant or jimmy Stewart. The best toons out there are Looney toons shorts from the 40s and 50s. Funny for a kid or an adult, like pixar.

I've seen Shawshank Redemption. Planning on watching some of the others that you've mentioned but there is only so much time.

I've also seen the Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Movie in which I assume the shorts come from older decades. And I agree that they're hilarious. As Richard Corliss said in his review of Madagascar 3, though, if they tried making Looney Tunes feature-length films, it would be difficult to make them as funny. Such condensed humour is difficult to maintain for a long duration.

Funny you mentioned the old Looney Toons, while channel flipping early this week I happened to land on the Toon Retro channel and started watching some really old Looney Tunes (they call them Looney Tunes Classic). I've started watching them regularly now and am surprised how many of them I've never seen. I started watching the dates in the credits and a lot of them are from the 50's, way before my time, although I did recognize a few episodes.

Why the hell are we talking about Looney Toons? I thought this was the Frozen topic?

So, not only does that make 12 straight weekends at #1 that will be the biggest 12th weekend ever.

For those keeping track, Frozen has the all time biggest weekends for its last 5 weekends. Biggest 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and now 12th weekends, and it's not even close for those weeks, Frozen has just annihilated the old records for those weeks.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

How many weeks before DVD hits? Will it cross SA in dollars before that?

Six more weekends. Should be at 208m after today. 14m week. Should be 260-280 by july 16 at this rate if the knowledge of the dvd doesn't slow it down. SA is 230 or 244. Either way it beat.

Hi guys! :) Another new user here, drawn in by Frozen's insane run. Have finally decided to make my first post because of my dismay at the early release date for the Blu Ray and DVD. Was very optimistic at Frozen hitting #4 WW until now. Do any of you still think it can make it? I'm really hoping it can as that will ensure it stays within top 5 for quite a while longer (maybe until Avatar 2 or Avengers 3) since Avengers AOU will probably beat it next year causing it to drop one spot.

Wow if it actually pulls 8M this weekend, that's going to make that sillyass DVD release even more annoying.  We'll never know with certainty what meeting it's absolute potential would have yielded (I mean at this pace 400M doesn't seem unreasonable at all...).

Welcome. call up disney in cali, ask for bob iger and get him to hold off on dvd and it will beat HP8. Doubt it will get there otherwise.5 emails sent. Write one. Let em know they are about to lose 50mhttp://thewaltdisneycompany.com/contact-us/corporate-communicationsAnybody working on getting hollis' contact info? And some one write the writers of bo or other news agencies. Maybe they'll right an article on questioning this dumbass move and how the movie is on its way to a massive all time foriegn release. Grass roots movement people. That means we need lots of blades in motion. Edited by T E Lawrence

Who knows? All the Japanese theaters would certainly love if the dvd gets delayed 2-3 months with how much they are making from Frozen. The higher ups at Disney must be noticing Frozen's amazing run in Japan, a delay is not impossible. I'm still confused at why Frozen doesn't have the standard 9 month window from theaters to video.

DVD sales in Japan are terrible. Only Spirited Away has sold 2 million, and selling 1 million is very rare. The tiny profits from dvd sales wouldn't be worth it compared to a longer run in theaters.

Wouldn't it be wild if Frozen is still making 7-8M a weekend by week 18?

I think that if Frozen is still having around 7-8m weekends by week 14, the Disney stock owners will be beating down Disney's offices and forcing Bob Iger to delay the video release by 5 months. That's what I hope happens anyway.
