Golden Kamuy's decision was too stupid they ruined the box office potential of a long running series,so I hate WOWOW so much right now.

I'm a little surprised about Oppenheimer's success too, but since it got the IMAX screens I was more curious about the upside.

Generally speaking hollywood comedies have a really rough time in Japan and Nolan has a fanbase so I'd say Oppenheimer was always going to make more here than Barbie

 

and I think it should increase tomorrow yes, not by all that much though.

Reaction are still Mixed but yeah no longer a negative campaign running (Only Hardliner pushing is @shin_the3rd at X)

 

&Interestingly, more people want to watch for twice &all thanks to Bitter Ends for making it an IMAX Exclusive (Afterlife did get all PLF but not the IMAX 🤪)

Rather than saying that Barbie is being boycott, it is better to say that the IP of Barbie has zero appeal to Japanese audiences.

Sat>sun is rather common for adult-skewing films and not much of a legs indicator (even a super leggy film like TGM had sat>sun every week). Next weekend's drop and especially weekdays for this would be the indicator, but I don't expect legs to be particularly good either.
