To be honest, you spared yourself a lot of time of refreshing the page and waiting for updates on Frozen's box office. Now you can just scroll through everything in one go.

 

That's one of the best things about finding a new forum. I only found the forum Corpse posts on a couple of days ago, it was a hoot going back to just before Frozen opened in Japan and seeing those 30-40m estimates, then reading through seeing every weekend underestimated and the predicted finish going up week after week as Frozen stubbornly refused to drop. 70m, 100m, 150m, 200m and finally to 50% 300m will happen.

Of course on that board it was only about 15 pages, on this one you have to go back 168 pages before you get to Frozen's opening day.

I have a question. if Frozen holds very well with minor drops until japans summer vacation, late july. how powerful will be frozens box office in japan from there? and how much money would it make from that point? any ideas?

I remember before Frozen's Japanese release, I told myself that it only needed 85m in Japan to overtake TF3 and become #6 all time, and that I would be extremely happy with anything extra. Let's just say that I am extremely happy. And now Frozen is knocking on #5 all time's door and that fact that there is a serious debate going on about possibly hitting #4 all time is simply amazing. It'll truly be a sad day for us on the BOF when Frozen's run ends. This has truly been an amazing run.

So, how do you think, what is a final minimum gross for Frozen now?

nothing has changed. My 275 minimum is with a 15-20% average drops. Even if it drops 20% this weekend. It will have more small drops down the road plus summer midweeks will double and an extended run until December is expected.

last week was remarkable. Both midweek and weekend bumps were unexpected. In looking at past weeks, this midweek is in line with week 6 and 7 which had 8m and 7.5m dollar weekends. No need to hit the panic button just yet. Frozens run has been a rollercoaster. Euphoria followed by doom every now and then. I think the weekend will fall between 7.2-7.5m, thats a 100% hold two weeks running post GW burn off.
