Yes, me too, it's has jumped from 23rd to 12th at 22nd WK of release in 28 sites. That's really incredible. I think Academy Awards fever will help it to pass ¥300M. I hope works like Drive My Car continue to get support.

I've heard that Sony Japan will give prizes (after drawing the lucky ones) to anyone who will buy at least 3 tickets for No Way Home, whether they have watched it or not. Do you think it will have any effect on the box office? 😅

They are looking for drop less than 40%. But, I hardly doubt about it's effect. Whatever it might be, Holland will pass the lifetime of his former Spiderman by Sunday. Sony's present target is just to have as many repeated visitors as they can to hold WK &to encounter new local film appearing each WK. Let's see how they ends Saturday. Cumulative Total for No Way Home until Friday (01/21) is ~¥2.8B.

 

BTW, I myself have watched once. Because I want to save money for 4DX → Jujutsu Kaisen Movie 0.

I expected much better for NWH in Japan, but hey, I can't be disappointed given his huge run in others internationals markets

At this point its run in Japan can only be saved by a new poster and a new commercial composed only of images and clips of Maguire while ignoring all the other characters 😰
