A 1.3m admissions 5-days is exactly what french boxoffice forum predicted after its first day. Should be around 1.7m for the full week.

Grossed 13.7 million this weekend internationally and 21+ total so far. I wonder what's the breakdown of that number. Doesn't sound good.

Not good at all. But France is not the problem, the problem is other territories..;

that's what happens when you pre-sell the distribution rights to too many distributors/exhibitors and ask them to promote it. There is no quality control in the marketing. You don't know how your product is being sold and whether it will even get a proper release. Can't just expect to give bare minimum marketing and flood the theatres with showtimes. Then again...it didn't get proper release in many countries including mine where it has maximum 2 shows in best theatres at the worst possible times. Late night and morning. I am unable to catch it in theatres because of this. And to think this was supposed to release in 1000 screens in India...what a load of bollocks.

The thing is, thanks to this method, Europa Corp is not going to bankrupt because of Valerian. They just have to make tinnier movies again in order to have an other hit like Lucy that would gave them an other shot at making blockbuster.

DESPICABLE ME 3 has reached 4.28 million viewers in France by Sunday (its 4th Sunday). This is around $31m total.

MINIONS had reached 4.77 million viewers in France by its 4th Sunday. Around $32.9m total at the same point.

Minions remains 10% ahead of DM3 in viewers at the same point in release.  However, Minions OW in France was 22% ahead of DM3.
