Cine-directors gave projections for the whole week from Wednesday to Tuesday.  Usually french sources use weekly admission numbers. Not for weekends.

Alot of theatres only report a weekly figure, dailies never add to weekly total also BO is 100% estimated of Admits, BO is only known & corrected once theatres start sending in BOR reports for billing

Hi MinaTakla,

Thanks very much for the post. So this means Dunkirk was overestimated by a whooping 145,000 admissions. It seems to be the issue for the rest of the titles as well. That's quite amazing!

Looking at the number, 2.5 mil admissions for Dunkirk appears to be out of reach. My hope is it will ultimately pass Wonder Woman.

By the way, I used Wonder Woman's total admission from cine-directors: 2,157,000 and the dollar gross from boxofficemojo: 17,238,368 USD and got 8 USD per ticket. This is way cheaper compared to us here in Australia: 15 AUD.

Hi Motui302, Dunkirk may hit 2.3m by end of next week, so 2.5m is still possible.

Still something that I don't understand here. DM3 did 5.3M admission and mojo annonce a total gross of 37M$ when average ticket price in France is between 10$-15$ (3D) ?

Is this because the VAT or exploitant part is excluded ?

Tickets for 14-year-olds and less are only €4, which brings down the average tricket price for animated features.

Btw, Apes 3 dominance will be knocked off this week, because What Happened to Monday (which has a theatrical release in France under the title of Seven Sisters) did a killer score on its first day of release with 121,394 admissions in 339 theaters.

Per theater, the movie does a better performance than Transformers The Last Knight, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Spider-Man Homecoming and close to Valerian. That's nearly unprecedented for a late-august/early-september release.

Knowing that the movie was a direct-to-Netflix in quite a few countries, that's a very impressive performance.

+35% increase for DM3 last weekend in France. It is now at $40m. Number one film of the year.

With $40m, DM3 has already made 90% of what Minions made in France ($44m) and has a shot at matching it in dollars or making around 95% of it by the end of its run.

DM3 has officially crossed $40.5 million in France – a fantastic result! It’s now at 91% of what Minions did and may even match it in USD when all is said and done.

Illumination couldn’t have hoped for a better result.

France is the leading European country for cinema attendance in 2016, ahead of the UK and Germany ! (I'm not expected this)

1) France : 213M tickets

2) UK : 168,3M tickets

3) Germany : 121,1M tickets

It didn't reach such figures since 2011's 217,2M tickets sold

2016 is the 3rd best year for the last 50 years

There are 2045 theaters in the country and 5843 screens

< 25 years old represented, in 2016, 1/3 of the moviegoers

9 61.491 --- 61.491 1 Gauguin
10 52.140 --- 52.140 1 Nelyubov

So IT made more in its first five days than cine-directors predicted for its first 7 days. Seems like a very good result. Let's see if it can reach 2,5M-3M admissions.
