What would be awful is this Cars 3 number (it's not happening the movie is gonna do 750k at least I think, it has terrific previews numbers)

motui302
Hello everyone, Is there any update on the results for the weekend yet? And do you think Dunkirk can reach 20 mil USD? Despite all the historical controversy, it seems to have been holding quite fine. Any response is greatly appreciated!

motui302
Hi MinaTakla, Thanks very much for your response. So glad to be speaking to you. I've been enjoying your posts immensely together with those by Rth Homecoming, Industrious Angel and Rsyu. Really appreciate your effort! Where do you think Dunkirk will wind up in France? I'm hoping it could at least pass Wonder Woman. And a final gross north of 20 mil USD or 2.5 mil admission will be even nicer. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Thank you:) 2.5m admissions are possible given it may add around 380K admissions this week for a total of 1.8m+. So it will probably end around 2.3-2.5m admissions. Multiply that by around 7.3 and you get your USD final.

motui302
Hi MinaTakla, Thanks very much for the post. So this means Dunkirk was overestimated by a whooping 145,000 admissions. It seems to be the issue for the rest of the titles as well. That's quite amazing! Looking at the number, 2.5 mil admissions for Dunkirk appears to be out of reach. My hope is it will ultimately pass Wonder Woman. By the way, I used Wonder Woman's total admission from cine-directors: 2,157,000 and the dollar gross from boxofficemojo: 17,238,368 USD and got 8 USD per ticket. This is way cheaper compared to us here in Australia: 15 AUD.

Annabelle: Creation, France was the third highest market for the original movie, I wonder if this one can at least stay flat? 2PM Paris : 1- The Dark Tower (1014 admissions) 3- Annabelle 2 (914 admissions) Pretty low for both so. The Dark Tower is gonna do 300k admissions this week at best. Very hard to say for Annabelle tho. The first did 926 admissions but it was not during vacations. Conjuring 2 did 2567 admissions at the same hour... But we have to wait for the OD number to be sure... We have the actual number of the Week (8/2 - 8/8): source: cine-directors.net The Apes finally won the week, but Cars 3 was very close and finally is increasing a bit from the second movie. Valerian is doing a ok-ish drop (Wonder Woman did 50%, Dunkirk did 42%). Despicable Me 3 is now the #1 of the year and will probably keep this position until Star Wars 8 (or maybe "C'est la Vie" the new movie of Intouchables directors could surprise). Dunkirk is gonna finish around 2.5m it's not bad... but because of the story and the setting in France I was thinking it could come close to 4m... On monday/tuesday only, Cars 3 was first, Valerian second and Apes was third. Mockingjay Raphael
Well below TC2, but this one was extremely front-loaded, I wonder if A:C will be more backloaded since it doesn't have the same urgency as TC2? It needs a 14.0x to reach TC2's numbers, how likely is it?

Cause, I see 3.7 mln$ week-end Yup, it did almost half of its Opening week-end (5 first days in France), on its OD. It was released at the last day of "La Fête du Cinema" an annual event that takes place at the beginning of july, during 4 days the cinema ticket only cost 4€ (instead of the average 7.5€ ticket). Awful OD for The Dark Tower : 37 770 admissions... Edited August 10, 2017 by Bastien
