It was the only film in the top 5 to increase over Monday and it took the top spot at the box office for the first time too With hindsight maybe it's not so surprising considering it increased on Sunday and it's first Monday was higher than it's opening day. Ratings are holding above 9.0 which is another positive sign. It will be interesting to see whether Inside Out can break out even further and beat Big Hero 6's admissions of 2,835,648 to become the most attended animated film of the year. I just hope it increases again today. If it get another +5% today it's weekend could be +20% over last week and that would be great

Rsyu
Pleasantly surprised by Inside Out's gravity defying run here. I now fully expect it's 2nd weekend to increase over it's first and it should become the most attended Pixar film either on Saturday or Sunday at the latest. Pixar animation studios productions (Admissions: 2003~) 01. 1,484,843 Toy Story 3 (2010) 02. 1,320,830 WALL-E (2008) 03. 1,286,412 Finding Nemo (2003) 04. 1,231,024 Brave (2012) 05. 1,155,067 The Incredibles (2004) 06. 1,054,886 Ratatouille (2007) 07. 1,047,327 Up (2009) 08. 1,023,056 Inside Out (2015)* 09. 870,605 Monsters University (2013 10. 665,303 Cars (2006) 11. 465,607 Cars 2 (2011) *=still in theatres Edited July 16, 2015 by Rsyu

So we are at 1.023M now, thursday will probably increase again and be up by 5% or so. That means we only need .870K admission or a 28% increase over last weekend with a Thursday that will be 50% bigger than last week. What do you think does this sounds reasonable? With Pixels opening today I think it might be difficult for IO to increase again over yesterday. So lets say it holds fairly even with 100K admissions and apply last weeks increases to it: Thursday: 100K Friday: 140K Saturday: 400K Sunday: 436K ---------------------- Total: 1.08 million admissions It's possible going off last weeks projections but I'm leaning towards a more conservative figure of 850-950K admissions for the remainder of the week, mainly because I don't think we'll see a increase on sunday like we did last week. I'd love for it to happen though Edited July 16, 2015 by Rsyu
