Tht would be something, never seen a movie keep on grossing decent amounts for this long. I IO is a great example where it really exploded big after OW, Aladdin never had that big of break out but just kept on making the sama amount (a bit more) for weeks. Normaly leggy movies burn out after 4 weeks and then drop off at a decent pace but Aladdin just keeps on going. Only BR can compare to this, but Aladdin is on steroids 😛 Hoping TLK doesn't hurt it to much (I think it will but better to be hopefull) and it might run for 13m admission and that would be absolutly nuts.). EDIT: If it survives TLK and bebounds the week after we can all start dreaming about it catching Avatar and EG 😛 Edited July 13, 2019 by pepsa 1

The moment i came out from aladdin showing, I told another friend of mine, who also pay attention to box office, this movie is going to be loved by south korean and japanese. Still, this level of holding power , the movie just basically repeat what Bohemian Rhapsody achieved in both countries, if not, better

But for the OW it had it's drops have been crazy good, I really hope it pushes 1.05B WW.
DisposedData
So why is Aladdin doing so well? Specifically here and Japan? Was the original animation that beloved in both territories or does it have something to do with the live action elements itself?

A lot of singing, the songs and a beloved story (specialy in Japan) is the reason why. But musical movies most of the time do great in Japan and SK. If a musical movie clicks legs will be great. Probably because of Speechless Search "Speechless Korean" on YouTube and there's a bunch of covers with millions of views. I believe a couple of those are actual (lesser known) k-pop singers doing covers.

Tbh this is why I love SK and Japan. Japan's crazy legs are always so much fun to see, but SK if even crazier because most movies are very frontloaded but 2-3 times a year you will have a movie with insane legs and it's so lovely to see.

Last sunday was below last saturday, and this saturday was bigger than last saturday. As this sunday will land around saturday's number (a small decrease probably) it is surely bigger than last sunday 😛 FFH is indeed looking at 480k props to @Thanos Legion you were spot on ! That said it's a big drop fron saturday and actualy not great at all. With TLK opening this week FFH will have to fight hard for 8.5m admission. ZeeSoh
Aladdin has crossed the 10m mark!!! It is now at #7 in the list below overtaking Bohemian Rhapsody. It will at this point cross 11m in admissions and even overtake Infinity War for the #3 spot in the all time list. I doubt it will go beyond that though. Spiderman: Far From Home also enters the all time list at #17th spot and will climb up steadily over the next few days/weeks. It will definitely overtake Transformers 2 for the 11th spot. Whether it an overtake Civil War and enter the top 10 remains to be seen. It can do it if it can maintain 50% drops over its runs Most Attended Foreign Movies (Since 2002) 1) Avengers: Endgame (2019)- 13,926,507 2) Avatar (2009) - 13,624,328 3) Avengers: Infinity War (2018) - 11,212,710 4) Avengers: Age of Ulton (2015) - 10,494,840 5) Interstellar (2014) - 10,309,432 6) Frozen (2014) -10,296,101 7) Aladdin (2019) - 10,160,857 😎 Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) - 9,948,386 9) Iron Man 3 (2013) - 9,001,679 10) Captain America: Civil War (2016) - 8,678,117 11) Transformers: The Dark of the moon (2011) - 7,785,189 12) Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2011) - 7,575,899 13) Transformers: Revenge of the fallen (2009) - 7,505,700 14) Transformers (2007) - 7,440,531 15) Spiderman: Homecoming (2017) - 7,258,678 16) The Avengers (2012) - 7,075,607 17) Spiderman Far From Home (2019) - 6,684,338 18) Mission Impossible: Fallout (2018) - 6,584,915 19) The Dark Knight Rises (2012) - 6,399,303 20) Kingsman: The Secret Servie(2015) - 6,129,681 Edited July 14, 2019 by ZeeSoh
