wattage Posted August 13 Share Posted August 13 (edited) I'm really curious about how Twisters is going to play here, unlike other OS markets this is debuting long after both WB and Universal would've been aware of the big 4DX hype around the movie domestically. I wonder if they were able to shift the marketing to capitalize off that, to really emphasize that this is a fun theatrical experience. And if they're able to do that, will the movie be able to do well? I don't know if WB shifted the marketing any, but I'll probably comb through reviews and stuff tomorrow to see what the vibe is. wattage Posted August 15 Share Posted August 15 Reception for Aliens is really solid I'd take the over on whether it passes Deadpool or not. Really good reception for Twisters and I did spot a lot of reviews about the 4DX but right now I don't think it's enough to make it have a huge comeback. But it'll put up some decent numbers, might be enough to get the OS number to crawl to 100 mill. Would love to be proven wrong though, in a positive way. I think Deadpool got neutered in terms of showtimes and so hardly got any boost. Its run is over at this point and its not hitting 2m as well. Flip Posted August 28 Share Posted August 28 Looking ahead, September is going to be dominated by Veteran 2, the sequel to a 2015 comedy action film that did 13.5m admits (#8 all time).
