He had continued to appear in back-to back box office hit movies. With over 7 million admissions to Ode to My Father, he became Korea’s first ‘100 million actor’. Previous NaTM films were very well attended, especially the first but the second one decrease by a large margin. Night at the museum: 4,612,831 (4 day OW including previews: 907,929) Night at the museum 2: 2,002,526 (4 day OW including previews: 942,333) The presales for NaTM3 are underwhelming for a film that's set to be released tomorrow.With good holiday legs I expect it to clear 1M admissions but a decrease from previous films looks inevitable. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My guesses put Song on around 85M or so which means that there is a 0.1% chance that he can cross 100 mil himself this year if Sado has Roaring Currents/King and clown/Masquerade level success. I think if they put him in the credits they count him in regardless of screen time or the weight of the role. Most of Oh dal-su's roles comes as a supporting actor but he gets cast in many high profile movies because directors know exactly what they will be getting from him so kudos to him for that. As for Song Kang-ho, the official number for JSA is wrong as it only shows the admissions number for Seoul. The studio for JSA released a statement that it beat Swiri's record attendance for Seoul and managed 5,795,820 admissions nationwide. There was a lot of controversy surrounding the film mostly around the sudden suspension of all showings not long after they made that announcement but I think the number itself is roughly right. Anyway this puts his total admissions at 88.3M and if Sado breaks out (very possible) he could very well cross 100M this year himself. Especially in 2013, he continuously made a series of smash hits like Snowpiercer, The Face Reader, The Attorney. Daily numbers are still impressive and 11M admissions is locked with a chance still for 12M. Great performance and I'm happy that my long-term prediction panned out for once Away from interstellar for a while, a local film name Gugkje market (국제시장, Ode to my father is the english title) is likely to be the biggest hit of this winter. With a proven director and a male lead with a lot of star power, it could turn out to the next film to hit 10 million admissions. No set release date yet, but it should drop around the winter holidays during the month of December. Personally I really like Hwang jung-min (male lead) who produced an epic performance in New world (신세계) so my expectations for it is high. I can't wait to see it!.
