Any idea where Aladdin will land for totals?

If Frozen and Bohemian Rhapsody are any guide, this could challenge 70m USD or 10m admission.

Frozen had its biggest weekend in 3rd weekend while Bohemian Rhapsody biggest weekend is 5th.

Korean clearly love musical theme film, why never a homegrown director make a local musical? Could be a roaring current challenger!

Endgame will miss 14 after all, but #1 import was the real goal. It can rest now.

Parasite finishing the weekend ~7 as I thought, should pass 10 but I’m not sure by how much.

Aladdin is hard to predict, for all we know 4th wknd could rise again  7+ makes sense to me.

CGV 14:20

1. Aladdin 150k (+11k)

2. Parasite 148k (+15k)

3. DP 31k

Aladdin start as #1 but looks like parasite will pass it.

local films usually have less presales and more walk ups. so..

I think it can survive MIB but not sure how things will go with toy story.(june 20)

No, that's definitely great. I don't find Aladdin nearly as compelling as Parasite though. It's run is already a success. Just not as interested in where it goes from here. Parasite potentially being Bong Joon-ho's highest grossing movie in South Korea interests me more.

Parasite is much more dark, gloomy, bitter film than Aladdin, which is a easy choice for family audience to see. And Aladdin’s final number is not that sure, I think.

2nd & the most important point is local film .. which is of course audience first preference .. Aladdin legs indicating the life time run ..possibility of $65 M+ best day for the film came in 3rd week ...

They’re both doing gangbusters, glad to see it and excited to find out where they each finish from here. Everything else since Endgame has been pretty meh here (oh, actually The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil was good too — all the other imports since then have been doing awful).
