The Creator
So....how long till:Exodus (sequel to Genesis)An eternity. Also, July looks like a real-life August. So weak box-office. May was great, though, and that June was stronger than July is just sad. Don't worry...I'll help out next year if I can with some "huge" blockbuster(s). Salvation looks to be leading Genesis, but my calculations have both over 300 million, so I'm satisfied.
Impact
Yep. Both did have great openings. So far this is very realistic, much more then the early CAYOM.

The Creator
Honestly, Oscar picks could go up by Saturday. The second half of this year has really picked up pace, so we could be getting to Year 4 much sooner than expected.

Impact
I wonder what the leggiest film of the year will be? Not including non Friday openings and films that started limited.(Crazy that only Yogi Bear had a 5 multipier in 2010. Well for films opening on a Friday that is. Inception and Secretariat came close and Dragon just needed 1M more)

Impact
Welcome to August! August 2-4: Despite some saying that it would not do that well since it is not the most known video game, "Fable" managed to pack the house with 57.9 million. With its advertising leaving out it was a video game (which was done by Prince of Persia as well years ago) it got people to see it. It was mixed between ages with mostly males. While thanks to a major increase in theaters-"Dead" increased this weekend. 1. Fable: 57,876,075 (1st week) 2. Wrinkle in Time: 22,701,003 (2nd week) (-43.1%) 3. 8AM: 13,586,095 (3rd week) 4. Dead in the House: 10,999,808 (4th week-wider) 5. Broken Earth: 7,798,009 (2nd week) (-65.4%) 6. Chaperones: 5,639,807 (4th week) 7. Walker: 4,331,432 (5th week) 8. Bobby: 3,211,579 (6th week) 9. Nadia: 2,887,806 (6th week) 10. Airbender: 2,004,436 (3rd week) August 9-11: "Fable" stays on top. It is the first film since "Atlantis" to remain on top on it's 2nd weekend. Which is in part due to the lack of competition it had this week."Vampires" had a moderate debut with 15.3 million, while "Breach" had a decent debut just under 13 million. This also marked the first weekend in a while where no new film made over 20 million. 1. Fable: 24,107,185 (2nd week) (-58.3%) 2. Vampires of Moscow: 15,307,106 (1st week) 3. Into the Breach: 12,997,780 (1st week) 4. Wrinkle in Time: 12,732,163 (3rd week) 5. 8AM: 7,598,801 (4th week) 6. Dead in the House: 7,123,644 (5th week) 7. Chaperones: 3,649,087 (5th week) 8. Broken Earth: 3,014,935 (3rd week) 9. Walker: 2,206,445 (6th week) 10. Nadia: 1,934,123 (7th week) August 16-18 Audience found "Truth and Love" this week as it debuted with a great 38.7 million. This was in part due to the fact that there has been no romantic dramas in a while. While "Pink Panther" opened to 15 million. The silent animated film was a huge question mark this Summer. The murder mystery comedy "1910" opened to 13 million. Playing well with older couples. 1. Truth and Love: 38,702,697 (1st week) 2. The Pink Panther Movie: 15,017,975 (1st week) 3. 1910: 13,018,970 (1st week) 4. Fable: 12,716,179 (3rd week) 5. Into the Breach: 8,441,634 (2nd week) (-35%) 6. Wrinkle in Time: 7,410,097 (4th week) 7. Dead in the House: 4,700,577 (6th week) 8. Vampires of Moscow: 4,617,680 (2nd week) (-69.8%) 9. 8AM: 4,260,085 (5th week) 10. Chaperones: 2,088,075 (6th week) August 23-25: What was being laughed at during the start of the Summer, "Chuck Norris" managed to kick some butt making 29 million. This was higher then most were saying it would do. Due to it being the only opener, films were having some pretty nice drops. 1. Chuck Norris and Liam Neeson vs. The Loch Ness Monster: 28,995,015 (1st week) 2. Truth and Love: 26,106,075 (2nd week) (-32.5%) 3. The Pink Panther Movie: 8,794,004 (2nd week) (-41.4%) 4. 1910: 8,643,507 (2nd week) (-33.6%) 5. Fable: 7,610,070 (4th week) 6. Wrinkle in Time: 6,931,015 (5th week) 7. Into the Breach: 6,518,698 (3rd week) 8. Dead in the House: 4,205,560 (7th week) 9. 8AM: 2,601,167 (6th week) 10. River of Death: 2,179,057 (1st week-limited) -El Libertador: 306,196 (1st week-only 8 theaters) August 30-September 2 (Labor day weekend): Truth and Love returned to number one this weekend, making it the first to do it all year. This was one of the slowest weekends of the year with "Lizards" and "River" making moderate debuts. As expected, "Wrinkle" and "Pink Panther" did quite well on Monday. 1. Truth and Love: 16,017,439/21,064,211 (3rd week) 2. Lizards: 15,016,194/18,253,105 (1st week) 3. River of Death: 13,941,024/16,534,133 (2nd week-wide) 4. The Dark Alfred
8am did what I expected. At least every year I had a 100m grosser. Can Planeswalkers do 300m? We'll see. I like the pace of the game. It's fun when a lot of people are here. I think Y4 has the potential to be epic if we can start it in August. I expect more films.
