Dementeleus
$750-$760ish is pretty much exactly where I have it pegged in baumer's game.
Robertron
$2.09m OD for FF6 in Australia. For comparison FF5 opened to $2.16m but that was during school holidays, and if anything the rush factor for OD for FF6 will be less due to the long weekend here. RTH says Sunday should be its biggest day!

A Marvel Fanboy
The action thriller surged towards the $400m mark and is on track to cross Fast Five’s $416m final tally by next weekend to become the biggest international film in the franchise after a $45.3m haul from 8,200 theatres in 62 territories propelled the running total to $381.7m. Combined with the $202.9m North American tally, the global number has reached $584.6m. The action thriller opened top in Australia on an outstanding $10.8m from 247 that overtook the $9.1m grossed by Ted in summer 2012 to become the studio’s biggest opening weekend in the territory. Mexico was the top holdover on $3.1m from 597 for $31.6m after three weekends. Fast 6 has amassed $35.3m in the UK, $32.8m in Russia, $25.4m in Germany, $20.2m in France and $18.7m in Brazil to rank as Universal’s biggest result ever in the territory. The film arrives in Venezuela on June 21, Japan on July 6 and China in July.
tomknf
Releasing the movie late in Japan and China is not a good idea. They will certainly leave some money on the table because of this. Fast 7 needs to have a uniform release date across all markets. This franchise is in the big boys club now, Universal needs to start thinking of it as such.

But a lot of movies have late release dates in Japan, and they are still successful. Ted is the most resent example. It was released in Japan in January, 6 months after its US release. Grossed more than $40m and made Japan the 2nd biggest OS market for this movie.
