fmpro
Is this still opening in Japan? ^^ You are right that Hollywood has an outdated view of East Asia. The superhero genre is for younger demographics but the same audience doesn't see samurais as heroes/anti-heroes or even villains, nor do they have affinity for such old world ethics. The reason for the decline in US movies in Japan. Young students who are previously known for being passive are now brave enough to take it to the street and challenge the establishment. The last great year for Hollywood in Japan is 2011 when there are POTTER finale, Mi4: Dubai, Pirates 4, and TF3 did very good business ($50M+) They have their own costumed superheroes: Its allready opend

zackzack
WOLVIE is the energizer bunny. I predicted it will stall at less than $350M WW. A good run for an aging franchise.

SentryTrans
TW3 would make 500m OS!
Tower
TW3 would make 500m OS! There is no TW3, there is DOFP, and even that I doubt makes 500M OS. A theoretical TW3 would be very unlikely to make it. Edited October 28, 2013 by Tower

cwhitty
I think the Wolverine has done really well, I didnt think the movie was very good and the US gross was underwhelming but overseas it has really done some solid money and the film could end up almost a 3.5 times multiplier compared to budget! Surely TW3 has to be in some development phase whilst Jackman can still do physically do it
