CoolioD1
btw "Ancora Qui" is apparently the original song from Django that's written by Ennio mutherfuckin' Morricone. So I hope that gets in..... despite me not having heard it yet.

forg
That Sambola song on the shortlist got my attention and checked it out! Low shot of being nominated but if it got a nomination, it would like a fun production number.Anyway my predictions:Skyfall (Skyfall)Learn Me Right (Brave)Strange Love (Frankenweenie)Everybody Needs a Friend (Ted)Suddenly (Les Miserables)My wishlist:This Gift (Odd Life of Timothy Green)Breathe of Life (Snow White and The Huntsman)Abraham's Daughter (Hunger Games) Edited December 12, 2012 by forg
JackO
Nice predicts forg. I hate this category. Glad Skyfall is eligible so it can win. Skyfall (Skyfall)Learn Me Right (Brave)Suddenly (Les Mis)Touch the Sky (Brave)Breath of Life (Snow White)

I have Dolly Parton's song of Joyful Noise instead of Brave. Keith Urban's song for Act of Valor also has a chance at a nom.
PatrickvD
If they nominate Adele and Mumford and Sons they would be morons for not trying to get them to perform. Those are arguably the two biggest names in music right now and they could boost ratings. Plus, it would be a fantastic show as both are incredible live. Blankments
Yeah, I loved Life of Pi, but I wasn't aware that was a song.... Suddenly was okay, but Skyfall was fantastic.
forg
Before My Time was the shocker nominee but I checked it out on YouTube and it was nice and I had no idea it was performed by Scarlett Johansson. The Oscars should definitely have the songs performed this year we have Adele, Hugh Jackman, Norah Jones and Scarlett Johanson. Pi's Lullaby does not have a star performer but still it was a box office hit so people are familiar with it
Sims
Does this count as an Oscar nomination for Scarlett Johansson? It'd be hilarious if this were her first.

ChD
Adele really needs to win this. If someone else wins, the Academy will prove itself to be very shitty at recognizing quality. Edited January 15, 2013 by ChD

Jack Nevada
I decided to listen all of the nominated songs Before My Time from Chasing Ice- Ehh.. This is a decent enough track, but it is not memorable. Not sure if Scarlett Johansson is a very good singer, either. Skyfall from Skyfall- Love this song. Not as good as You Know My Name, but I still get goosebumps. Everybody Needs a Best Friend from Ted- I like this a lot, it has a super-neat retro thing going on. I bet this song would have been a smash hit in the 50's. Pi's Lullaby from Life of Pi- This song makes me sleepy, but in the nicest way possible. Very relaxing and beautiful. Suddenly from Les Miserables- I dont have much to say about this, since I dont know the context. I guess its alright
forg
Yeah Suddenly as a standalone is not memorable but in the context of the film, it works
Kalderic
My vote goes to Skyfall. such a perfect song... and Im not even a big Adele fan. She just nailed it on this one!Pi's Lullaby is good, but not great. And while i totally enjoyed the addition of Suddenly to Les Mis, it wasnt needed...
