Wu Jing has understood a few things: to make a shitload of money, you better find something "original" (first "real" Chinese SF blockbuster, out at the right moment: a few weeks after China landed on the dark side of the moon, professionalism, if possible a good script adapted from a best seller and hugely important: SFX done by WETA).

I'd love to see him in a big kung fu comedy (like an 80's Jackie Chan movie only for today's Chinese audience...). He is a serious comic talent I'm pretty sure about it.

 

I hope The new king of comedy will kick ass too (big Stephen Chow fan, I love the first one).

Based on maoyan pre-sales for tomorrow, 7th Feb, TWE should take over as the box office leader.

WOM sucks for it, 2nd day drop will be over 50%, pretty ugly during CNY holiday

CNY day 2 down 30% at 985m.  Last year was down 20% with MH2 getting hammered.

Big front load for day 1, Too many seats available.   We will probably hear about theater over saturation by the end of this year
