Issue is that even the cities which cinemas are not closed, people are also fearful and not alot of people have mood to go to theaters. But WoM currently is definitely good.

Day 1 seems to be 21 - 22m Yuan.. (less than Maoyan predict of OD 27m Yuan)

Numbers are not strong. 

 

Understand from Gavin, more than 40% of cinemas in the country are closed and box office impact is more than 60%.

 

Won't hit 100m yuan (USD15.7m) OW, unless a crazy jump happens tomorrow...

Luiz isn’t a reliable source for projections or analysis. Some DC bias, plus generally overly rosy/hype-ish. Lots of cherry picked comparisons and focus on misleading positive sounding trivia even if a movie is in fact doing poorly.

Total gross aside, i think they might lose money in China.. I heard marketing was crazy in China, billboards, posters everywhere and then COVID (re)struck.

china never ceases to amaze me, one way or another everytime something will happen.At the same time, their covid policy isnt sustainable but whatever ,i just hope that the party isnt too stupid to continue that tactic every time there is an outbreak as covid will never vanish.
