douban has been trending down from 7.7 to 7.5. Not a big change but may not be ideal.

SW7 has really slowed down as the day progressed. It is at 110m at 6PM and may finish with 120-125m.

WOM is not good,wanda is down to 74% likes.Only Spectre is so low recently.Most films on wanda is over 90% likes.

If Monday drop hard,it will be lucky closer  to MI5 135M gross.Next week,there are some local film releases.It will lose screens.

It doesn't matter what TFA do in China，panda is always the frontrunner this year.

But If KFP3 release a week early,it is much better.Jan.29 is too close to Spring festival.Panda may not survive until Feb.8.

I think the problem is less WOM for KFP3 but rather the loss of screens on its 10 day from all the major local films coming out.  It will have to make the vast majority of its gross before then.

7 or 8 wide releases the same day！

including 2 yearly boxoffice Top 2

If KFP3 cannot release on Feb.8，Jan.15 is much better date.Winter holiday begin next weekend in some schools.

Well I am just glad that douban audience applies the same standard in regard to storyline for Hollywood movies. Many local movies and tv series were rightfully panned for the incoherent plot, Mary Sue plot device, and rehashing old storyline with some cosmetic twist - which basically is what SW7 is. Sorry fans of SW7, I really think it is a remake, not a sequel.

Point Break aside (released early to avoid blackout period), when was the last time a Hollywood film released in China a week ahead of the US debut?

Then the interest maybe gone in Feb.8 for KFP3......

 

But......how long will KFP3 stay in theaters in China? Normally for Hollywood films....it's 1 whole month. But with way too many locals coming out.....could they lessen it's run?
