A Marvel Fanboy
Chinese government is damn annoying shoving all the Hollywood films together.Chinese people love Hollywood films and want more of them and grosses are getting bigger. Trying to limit the success of these Hollywood blockbusters is a fruitless task as they are getting bigger in China every year. Hopefully the Chinese government will see they cannot win in the end and stop their meddling. The new national leaderships will take over later in October this year. Lets see if things can get better or not. There will be always protection for local movies however, but hope the new leaders wont limit Hollywood movies potentials. Rudolf
they should declare any movie with atleast one Chinese character a Chinese movie - problem solved

That way everybody will be happy.

A Marvel Fanboy
This is utter bullshit by Chinese government. Yeah, now vc2002's 50M bet for TASM has a solid chance to win.what a shame.
redfirebird2008
Hilarious that their local films didn't perform so well even with a clear market, so now they have to nuke the shit out of Hollywood's films just to keep their precious 50% local thing in effect.

Such a shame, TDKR/TASM both could have approached 80-100M and now will be lucky to hit half of that. Chinese government's a disgrace, noway around it. Edited August 15, 2012 by druv10
A Marvel Fanboy
What was the bet?Should be a bet between Fmpro VS vc2002: TASM over/under 50M in China
MrPink
Well I guess TDKR isn't going to blow past a billion, though it's still safe. 1.1 billion is completely dead though Edited August 15, 2012 by MrPink
The Dark Alfred
China's box office will be the one to watch for a couple of weeks. Deserves a daily thread IMO. I think it's fair to say that Prom, TR and TBL will tank. Will be interesting to see TASM vs TDKR. I don't think it's a fair fight though lol
A Marvel Fanboy
Yes, relatively things are better for TDKR and TASM for being the first to release. But for PROM, TR, TBL, totally bombs are waiting.TE2 will do fine however, due to solid fanbase.
A Marvel Fanboy
In the biggest theater chain, Wanda cinemas, TDKR will take all the 2D screens during 8.27~9.2 while TASM takes all the 3D screens. Bigger screens will be given to TDKR. They will screen nothing but the two superhero movies.
