Chinese government is damn annoying shoving all the Hollywood films together.Chinese people love Hollywood films and want more of them and grosses are getting bigger. Trying to limit the success of these Hollywood blockbusters is a fruitless task as they are getting bigger in China every year. Hopefully the Chinese government will see they cannot win in the end and stop their meddling.

The new national leaderships will take over later in October this year. Lets see if things can get better or not.There will be always protection for local movies however, but hope the new leaders wont limit Hollywood movies potentials.

Better yet, all Hollywood blockbusters should have a Chinese character. That way everybody will be happy.

I have seen nothing like this in the entire film release history.Every movie will be lucky to reach half of its potential at this point.

Exactly.TA got lucky with it's release in China but no luck for rest of the lot. Such a shame, TDKR/TASM both could have approached 80-100M and now will be lucky to hit half of that. Chinese government's a disgrace, noway around it. :rolleyes: Edited August 15, 2012 by druv10

China's box office will be the one to watch for a couple of weeks. Deserves a daily thread IMO. I think it's fair to say that Prom, TR and TBL will tank. Will be interesting to see TASM vs TDKR. I don't think it's a fair fight though lol

Yes, relatively things are better for TDKR and TASM for being the first to release. But for PROM, TR, TBL, totally bombs are waiting.TE2 will do fine however, due to solid fanbase.

In the biggest theater chain, Wanda cinemas, TDKR will take all the 2D screens during 8.27~9.2 while TASM takes all the 3D screens. Bigger screens will be given to TDKR. They will screen nothing but the two superhero movies.
