ZeeSoh
TLK so far has a multi of 1.345 versus Spidey’s multi of 1.311 till Wednesday. TLK however will face a big opener tomorrow as Looking Up has a great PS of 20m for tomorrow. TLK’s show count is already down by 40% tomorrow. It will also face 4-5 new openers on Friday which will take a lot of screens away whereas Spidey did not face any significant competition in its 2nd weekend. Overall TLk will have a better multi than Spidey but 3x and 150m seems very unlikely at this point.

I have been thinking, if Disney is going to do animation or even live action movie of next Chinese legendary/mythical character, it should be Ne Zha. He is such a fabulous intriguing rich multi-layer character. Some of his choices, the family dynamic and daddy issue can be very dark grim and probably need adaptation though. Probably looking at low 20s for thursday. Question is can it increase on friday while losing more shows. Anyway there is little mystery left in its run. @Olive, is Spiderman getting an extension or will it end its run next week? Anyway its losing lots of screens and so looks like finishing around 1.4B. Good increase from homecoming. Edited July 17, 2019 by keysersoze123

We’ll see about Spider-man 4 in 2023, I think it’ll be over 2B
TalismanRing
I didn't see this posted yet but more terrible news for the Chinese film industry https://asia.nikkei.com/Politics/China-movie-studio-embraces-Communist-Party-as-industry-turns-red Quote China movie studio embraces Communist Party as industry turns red Huayi Brothers pledges allegiance after suffering huge losses through censorship Huayi Brothers, the film studio that sits atop China's entertainment industry, welcomed the Chinese Communist Party into its operation this week. At a joint ceremony Monday, Huayi representatives accepted a golden tablet from the party after establishing a Communist Party committee within the company. Cao He, former head of public relations at Huayi, will lead the committee as the party secretary, Xinhua News Agency reported Friday. Huayi Brothers will "work with the party over films' productions in every way," said Cao, adding that the studio will ultimately "integrate the party's achievements into film and television." Quote "This will definitely have a chilling effect on the type of content that will come out of Huayi and its partners," Kokas said. "However, this is in the context of the increasingly limited scope of activities of Chinese filmmakers due to censorship regulations. [Although] this is a significant transformation, the state for content production has already been shrinking." 1

I know these kind of stories can appeal to a certain audience but I'm just curious as I haven't seen much hype about this movie online and I don't see it appealing to families or younger people that much.
