There is this very detailed post in Baidu Tieba - showing all 12am - 3am timings in Jackie Chan theater chains are sold out. Trying to relocate it. Jackie's integrity is questonable in recent years.

I Am Not Madame Bovary and Railroad Tigers did over ￥110m from Jackie Chan’s theater chain, and that is very a high profile number. Hope they can stop doing this on Kung Fu Yoga and it’s unnecessary. WOM is better than JTTW2 and Buddies in India and the gross of single day might beat JTTW2.

How many screenings does JTTW2 have in his theaters? if it's not a priority, 0.53% out of JTTW2 total box office which is a huge number as it is - doesn't really seem strange.

Sunday showtimes

KFY 40.5%

No. But they gave many showtimes to their movies, and only they know how many people go their theater chain for watching Jackie Chan. 

 

Studio and distributor can use their own theater chain to create box office. ￥100 box office, ￥3.3 for tax and ￥5 for the movie special funds, rest for distributor and theater chain. In theory, they can create ￥100 by ￥8.8, and sometimes only need ￥3.3(￥5 funds might be returned and it could only happen on local films).

Theater/distributor/production company really should be separated. It's ridiculous how they can manipulate box office like that.

Looks like KFY is overtaking JTTW2 tomorrow. Well it seems the black propaganda worked LOL. It was still great seeing JTTW2 break records though and it should still go well above 1B. Stephen will be the only one who can break this OD record when he eventually releases another movie! Not sure about the rumors of Kung Fu Hustle 2 though - it's a classic that doesn't need a sequel.

After service charges, Kung Fu Yoga can make at least ￥1,200m. And JTTW2 might be under ￥1,500m.

Doubt it will end up making more at the end though. JTTW2 is still ahead by a lot.

I wasn't talking about the total. So much negativity about KFY in this thread yet it has continued to gain showtimes on both BiI and JTT2, WOM must be good and much better than other 2.

Whoa, is there a need to be defensive? Have you seen the movie? Because I have and it's.. not good. But hey, whatever floats the audience's boat.

 

Also FYI it has a 5.9 rating on Douban. Not THAT much better. Actually the movies with the best WOM are the animated movie and Duckweed. I can see the animated movie gaining more showtimes in the coming days.
