MJ1 only had a release of 10 days, if it had normal release circle, it will make like 280m, other than 225m.

So over 300M for MJ2 is not too much to ask,market is increasing 40-50% after all.

If it don't get killed by The Martian 5 days later, $50M is possible too.

What I do not get is:

I guess you both should try to remember some of the possible reasons for seeing something in another way:

1. translation as in the chosen words

2. voices of the dubbers

3. what is an act of honor (see business), what is humourous, what... in the different ountries = big cultural / traditional differences, not only to China

4. which movie were recently shown in country, release dates can differ up to several years, sometimes a bad combination is possible

5. local movies....

6. advertising differs often quite a lot, if the advertising does promise a certain kind of e.g. action and the movie desn't follow through...

And so on

Not all examples meant especially for Spectre...

Same counts obviously for e.g. Spanish, German, .... translations

 

Btw, for the ones who weren't ware about that:

even the chosen clothes / colors can be seen differently (to a degree). See e.g. green ties, white clothes,...

Blond Bond on it way to clear 120m up 34%, possibly more

AM was up 40% on sat after its Friday OD. If WOM was horrific we would have seen that closer to flat or even down as some movies managed to do,

AM held better than -10% DOD on its weekdays which is very good displaying great WOM which provided its high OD multiplier. Highly doubtful JB could match that but with an 17% larger OW it should clear 635m/$100m.

Yuan.. Example: In the above numbers for SPECTRE 124M(Million yuans) is Saturday's figure and 220M is total Figure for that movie in million Yuans

Its always in Yuan in these updates. First number is daily number and last is total..

devide by around 6.4 to get in $
