My Best Summer has strong Maoyan score of 8.9; smart move by the studio to move it back 3 weeks from its original date. It somehow knew Chasing the Dragon II and Dark Phoenix will have below average WoM

I think DP could have decent legs, not as bad as 4x OD.

 

CTD2 is a flop, will lose money for producers.

$22.5 weekend - a hefty drop of 68% - will give it $110. Why can't add $30 more after a $22.5 2nd weekend?

$110 dom, $135 china, $35 Japan = $280 from these 3 markets

OS-Ch-Japan ow was $51 and needs $120 from rest of the markets for $400 ww.

Feasible but $140 from China and $40 from Japan would really help a lot.

Spot On ... But That $120 M From OS-Ch-Japan is Really A Tough Task .... Issue Is Their is No Support From Other Markets .. Only Spain Release Left .. (But that Too With toy Story 4) ...

Yeah, $120 is 2.35x after $51 ow. Feasible if wom is ok.

Its an inflated holiday weekend. probably low $130s.  IF XM's dailies crash and next weekend is as weak as it looks, it could approach $140m

Yeah getting to 140m will definitely help its 400m WW chances.

 

We’ll see how it holds in Japan this weekend. Looks like it held decent enough during the week. Would be great if it came out of the weekend there with 20m in the bag, I’m more thinking 17-19 after the weekend.

 

It could hold better domestically too lets not forget. Hoping it can squeeze its way to at least 120.
