The night battles were so dark that the characters totally forgot Gipsy Danger actually got a big ass sword that could end the battle quickly until last second because they couldn't find the button to push through that darkness.

Pacific Rim 2: The Main Character That Piloted Gipsy Danger Originally Had No Idea That A Sword Was Added To The Arsenal

Pacific Rim 2: The Main Character Has No Idea That Gipsy Danger Has A Sword Even If He Is Linked To His Partner Mentally So They Basically Know What Each Other Know While Piloting Through The "Drift" To Be Perfectly Compatible And Effective.

Or Pacific Rim 2: Mako Is One Sneaky Dissimulator.

Fail.

How hard is it to understand that he had no idea Mako added a sword when she rebuilt it?

That is what I always assumed happened. He didn't know the sword was there.

When Del Toro banged you on the head with the Drift, all about mental synchronicity/ mental fusion to pilot as one mind like the two sides of the brain and shit like that, that scene just fucks that movie logic up. So you got to be in total synch mentally to be able to pilot those robots but you don't think it is important to mention to your partner that you added weapons so you put the mission in danger and you just wait to use it on the fly as your partner looks befuddled (even if he's supposed to be able to read your mind to be able to pilot together so they think as one entity)

I don't get the "it's too dark" complaint. Y'all need to get y'alls eyes checked cause I saw everything just fine.

Plus the neon colors in the dark were just gorgeous.

I'll give the haters the undersea battle- that one got a bit murky, especially in 3-D.  But the first fight was just fine, and the Hong Kong battle was, as you say, gorgeous.
