That was WTF moment for me as well but I loved TA nonethless. Hopefully, Thanos in TA2 kicks ass and pushes the team to their limit. Maybe even lose a member or 2.

Who would you get rid of though? Hawkeye seems the obvious choice, but compared to the others he's kind of a non-character so his death wouldn't mean all that much. Killing off Captain America, for example, would be far more daring and interesting.

Wow. This is a great weekend! Holdovers are doing great and pretty much every new release except Guardians did much better than expectations. Gotta love these rare weekends where almost everything is doing really good.

Is there any chance they could kill Thor off? And then have the 3rd Thor movie basically being Loki joining with the Warriors Three and friends to fight Hela or Mephisto or someone to bring Thor back? (And then Loki would betray them and reveal his true plan in the end, etc.)

The thing that bugs me the most is the TPM-like "destroy the mother ship and they all lose power!" ending. I rolled my eyes when they all died. It totally takes away from Iron Man's team player resolution to have the entire team basically standing there as the Chitauri all fall. I know it was the victorious moment, it just could have been set up better. And they were organic right? I just never heard they needed a connection to the mother ship to live. Just lazy writing, IMO.The whole movie is full of absolutely scrumptious writing, then they do that at the end? Keeps TA from being my favorite movie ever.

I bet Zak Penn wrote the Battle Droid ending and Whedon didn't have time to change it because of the short production schedule. He could have at least thrown in a line of dialogue explaining there was a link between the Chitauri and the mothership, though. At least we're getting the full Whedon with TA2.

Sorry, I think that's kinda bull. Wheaton gets due credit for all the positives about TA. He deserves the negatives as well.

Sorry, I think that's kinda bull. Wheaton gets due credit for all the positives about TA. He deserves the negatives as well.

I said he should have put in a line of dialogue explaining it. I just doubt he came up with the idea to begin with, especially as he's been very critical of the prequels. Why would he steal a plot point from TPM? It was most likely left over from Zak Penn's script or a mandated plot point by Marvel. Someone should ask Whedon about it in an interview.

Yes 0 to 5% decreases for both SF and BD2 are good numbers. BD2 is expected to drop this much, but for SF it's good as both its predecessors dropped around 10.
